Manager of LTL

About the Role

The LTL Manager will support Shipwell's business units and execute key pricing strategies to ensure the continued growth of the Less Than Truckload mode. This role is a cross functional position that will work to blend Shipwell's state of the art connected platform with a high growth managed service division to create success for their team.

What you’ll do when you get here:

  • Instrument go-to market strategies for key accounts through implementing LTL carrier rates/discounts
  • Establish relationships with National LTL Carrier Partners to construct customer specific pricing initiatives
  • Analyze the Shipwell pricing program and internal rate structures to capture optimized cost and service with LTL carriers
  • Work closely with the Account Management Team to target potential customers
  • Work closely with LTL operations to create and maintain SLA's for key accounts
  • Ensure accuracy across both blanket and specific rate structures
  • Work with carrier partners to minimize accessorials and create line haul discounts initiatives
  • Own and maintain the RFP process with LTL carriers and communication flow to the Sales/AM Org
  • Provide team guidance and strategy to effectively manage all aspects of the LTL Department
  • Applying best practices to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded
  • Manage margin improvement and protection that will create organic growth
  • Identify and rationalize market opportunities across clients and services 
  • Support the company strategy including growth and transformative initiatives 
  • Provide leadership and create an environment that fosters passion, teamwork, and agility within the organization 
  • Create optimized and scalable business processes and define requirements for the Drayage Product in collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Finance organizations 

What you need to have:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in operations/sales management in logistics and supply chain management with a focus in LTL
  • Experience with LTL brokerage
  • 2+ years Management level experience specifically in fast growing sales or operations teams
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure
  • Hands on experience with continuous improvement
  • Multitasking skills in a fast moving and changing environment
  • Familiarity with technology platforms and/or TMS Systems

We're fully distributed, but our HQ is located downtown Austin where plenty of trendy bars, restaurants, and shops are located within walking distance
