Duo + Cisco = Disco
With the Most Loved Company in Security and the global leader in network technology joining forces, there are more exciting opportunities than ever to be at the forefront of securing the cloud.
Our mission is simple: democratize security by making it easy and effective for everyone. We’re transforming security from the ground up by solving the world’s most pressing geopolitical challenge — safe, secure information access. We engineer our business to enable our customers to easily address their ever-evolving security challenges.
We believe that impactful work is rewarding work and that our team is at its best when everyone feels empowered to bring their whole self to work. We learn together by hiring for cultural contribution, not a cultural fit, and recognize that diversity in background and thought is essential to building high-impact teams.
We invest in growth and learning opportunities and encourage our people to never stop learning. We foster collaboration and believe in being recognized (and rewarded!) for hard work. We champion a healthy work-life balance. We’re kinder than necessary.
Together we build for the future by designing simple solutions for complex problems. And that’s why we’re the most loved and trusted name in security.
As an Architect, you love coming to work knowing that you’re adding value through spreading standard methodologies across teams. At some point, you decided you wanted to maximize your impact by sharing your knowledge with others. There are still one or two days a week that you find yourself digging into some exciting technical challenges, but for the most part, the heavy coding days are in your past. Instead, you spend your time leading strategic technical decisions and encouraging teams to tackle the hard problems which may otherwise be left to linger.
With your experience, you have come to understand that the best way to guide is to let people experiment while providing bumpers, so they don’t go too crazy. It’s okay to jump in and give direct feedback and guidance, but more often than not, it’s better to let the team operate and do your influencing beforehand through 1:1s or team conversations; or during meetings by asking questions that can spur discussion among the engineers who will be implementing a given solution. You lead by influence, not through authority.
You’re thrilled to work on established systems running on millions of devices and to help teams identify different areas we can improve the codebase. Additionally, you enjoy determining how we can make sure we’re maximizing each team’s strengths rather than reinventing the wheel, and maximizing the impact of teams on taking our software to the next level.
Sometimes you find your time is best spent putting together outstanding training guides, technical talks, or workshops to help increase the skills of the organization. At other times you know that you need to be in meetings with teams significantly removed from the products you work with day-to-day so that you can learn what else people are working on, and how we can either aid them in their objectives or maximize their work in ours.
