 Responsibilities

The Head of Global Operations is a member of the Senior Leadership Team and will be responsible for the oversight and the continued build-out of an end-to-end (E2E) integrated supply chain capable of delivering results in a fast paced and demanding growth environment. In addition, this person will have responsibility for Quality and a significant level of partnership and engagement with the NPD/Product functions and leaders. He/she will be asked to create a culture and a supply chain that is naturally hyper-responsive to its customers and ensures that the supply chain can deliver a ‘best-in-class” and reliable customer experience through all channels of distribution. Responsibilities include:

  • Build a culture and supply chain that is laser-focused on driving solutions and delivering results and is transformative and agile enough to meet the company’s aggressive top-line growth plans.
  • Bring a business, strategic and emotional maturity to YETI in order to drive a better all-around customer experience and deliver the strategic, financial and operational results that the company expects.
  • Drive the team to deliver better S&OP results in order to better predict the demands of the customers and the overall aggressive top-line growth of the business.
  • Work closely with the CEO to contribute to the growth strategies and operational plans of the business.
  • Build a forward-thinking environment capable of leveraging a large-scale technology platform.
  • Bring deep product manufacturing experience and a track record of success, with strong customer expertise gained in dynamic, global and challenging environments.
  • Introduce advanced supply chain and continuous improvement tools and methodologies in order to help the business deliver results in new product development, customer fulfillment, quality, cost and inventory management.
  • Lead the charge to diversify the supply base by building alternative sources of supply for commodities such as resin and stainless steel, as well as manage 3PL relationships.
  • Build a metrics-driven organization that delivers a supply chain that meets both the customers’ needs from product, service and innovation perspectives, as well as the company’s business, financial and strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Business, Engineering, Operations Management or Supply Chain Management. A graduate-level degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering or Business Administration (MBA) from a top tier institution is highly desired.
  • 15-20 years of global integrated supply experience, ideally from a consumer products preferably finished goods company, with a focus on designing and producing performance-based, premiuim products.
  • Experience with building a metrics-driven organization that has delivered a supply chain that meets both the customers’ needs from product, service and innovation perspectives, as well as the company’s business, financial and strategic goals.
  • Possess high energy and a creative approach to problem solving.
  • Possess humility with exceptionally strong leadership skills.
  • Possess a leadership style that drives customer centricity to everything the supply chain organization does. Individuals must be a business person first, and be considered a valuable partner to the CEO, executive team and board.
  • Proven experience in applying a Lean operating business system is a fundamental prerequisite for the job, as is experience in optimizing and reducing the costs across the procurement and supply chain.
  • Demonstrates humility, coupled with a fierce determination to deliver improved top- and bottom-line performance.
  • The ability to develop a differentiated and dynamic strategy which delivers real financial value.
  • Hands-on orientation and the ability to get things done through one’s own efforts, not just presiding over the activities of others.
  • Executive presence and managerial courage. Must have the intellectual intelligence and humility to lead and influence, coupled with the courage of her/his convictions.
  • Thought and action leadership – the ability to lead thinking on strategic issues and deliver the impetus to get things done.
  • Team development and team management – a commitment to developing teamwork and team capabilities, and a fervent belief in the importance of talent as a competitive advantage.
  • Strong coaching skills/trust building, as well as “tough empathy” in performance management.
  • Excellent influencing skills; confident, robust and happy expressing one’s opinion. Must be able to communicate and present at the Board level.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Experience with a global supply chain and preferably some on-the-ground overseas experience.
  • Great strategic vision and business savvy balanced with strong operational integrated supply chain experience that ensures manufacturing excellence in a global marketplace.
  • Someone who respects the past, but is willing to question the status quo if a process can be improved upon.
  • Is a champion for cost containment and operational efficiency and at the same time places a high value on product quality and consistency. Sees product quality and operational efficiency as compatible goal.
