Whole Foods Market attracts people who are passionate — about great food, about the communities they live and work in, about how we treat our planet and our fellow humans — and who want to bring their passion into the workplace and make a difference. The Whole Foods Market Tech Team is looking for a passionate and innovative IAM Manager to join our recently formed Identity and Access Management Engineering team to bring their expertise and passion for technology to drive innovation and support Whole Food’s strategic vision.

Everyone on the team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats, and work in a highly collaborative environment. Ideal candidates will think big and have a strong bias for action, while earning trust through their desire to learn and be curious, invent and simplify, dive deep, insist on highest standards and work back from the customer. Given the complexity of each launch, it will also be important to be operationally strong – managing many relationships, dependencies, and timelines across critical initiatives.

As a leader you will hire the best engineering talent and bring them together as a team to innovate and deliver. You will define and build secure, reliable, scalable, fast, cost-effective, and easy-to-use products. You’ll help set – and will be expected to deliver on – aggressive goals for adoption, operational performance, and feature delivery. Your ability to effectively engage and influence senior-level stakeholders within and outside the immediate organization will be crucial for success in this role.

The IAM Manager position is based in Austin, TX. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery of technical IAM solutions that align to business strategy
  • Gather and analyze business and functional requirements and translate business requirements into technical design specifications
  • Plan, estimate, staff, organize and monitor significant project activities
  • Teach others on best approaches to solve problems
  • Act as a key service or process evangelist and expert for the team
  • Provide clear and effective communication with all levels of the organization
  • Lead security projects from initial conception through design, testing and implementation
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative environment within the team, with Enterprise Architects, Infrastructure, Support and with other IT teams
  • Develop metrics that demonstrate the current risk state, indicators of progress and IAM business alignment
  • Engage with Development teams during operational security reviews and provide leadership and security design guidance
  • Monitor technology and security developments and ensure the company’s security framework follows industry best practices
  • Play a key and influential role working with others, in groups, in cross-functional settings and with diverse stakeholders internally and externally

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on engineering experience with IAM solutions
  • Experience with budget development and financial analysis
  • Experience recruiting and leading highly skilled technical team members with a focus on active career development
  • Experience working with teams that follow the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) delivery methodology
  • Experience thriving in a highly dynamic, evolving organization
  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science and 4-6 year’s relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Valued Traits:

  • Systems thinking, servant leader and strong interpersonal skills
  • Curious, actively seeking ideas and innovations
  • Spirit of continuous improvement
  • Experimental and focused on measurability
  • Values diversity
  • Playful spirit and sense of humor
  • Ability and patience to take small steps toward a larger goal
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn and have fun
  • Cares for team members, peers and others
  • Celebrates individual and team contributions
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in a technology architecture role, prior supply chain experience, or experience with Amazon technologies
