Internal Communicator

Invitae is a fast-growing, mission-driven medical genetics company bringing genetic information into mainstream medicine to improve healthcare for billions of people. Our team is diverse, ambitious and always expanding and we need an internal communications specialist who can help us create community, build our culture and keep our remote-first team up-to-date.

We are looking for someone with experience in internal communications, including working with senior leaders, who can drive a nimble, creative and engaging internal communications effort.  This is a hands-on role within our communications team that is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who has a passion for defining an approach and seeing it through to completion. You will collaborate across our organization, including with our management, technology and talent operations teams.

What you’ll do

  • Design and drive internal communications efforts
    • Design and manage strategy, messaging and tactical execution for corporate internal communications, including managing company-wide all hands, internal newsletter and other channels
    • Provide support to functional internal communications needs
    • Support our talent operations team on site communications for our production facilities, benefits and other communications as needed
    • Work closely with our culture team on a creative communications effort that helps cultivate culture at scale
    • Support our management team on internal messages and all hands meetings
    • Serve as a strategic partner and provide communications counsel to internal teams
  • Jump in to help on other corporate communications efforts as needed

What you bring

  • 7-10 years experience, including in-house experience with internal communications
  • Excellent writing skills for hands-on content development
  • Experience with corporate communications/PR a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and network broadly throughout an organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations or related
  • Ability to travel
