As our Technical Writer on our IT team, you'll create content targeted to other IT teams and end-users. Technical writers plan, design, and maintain content as an integral part of the IT or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that's useful to their audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, research, and draft user docs that make using complex products easy for end-users, administrators, and the Service Desk staff.
  • Design and maintain knowledge base in response to product changes and customer feedback are searchable for IT staff and end-users
  • Passionately pursue information that your customers need to be successful
  • Actively promote customer-centered product development and create content based on customer scenarios
  • Respond to and address feedback on your documentation
  • Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends with little advanced notice.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SME) to obtain and validate the information
  • Manage one's own time and meet tight deadlines
  • Ghostwrite white-papers as needed

What you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelors degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience developing outstanding user documentation
  • Ability to handle multiple schedules and competing requirements and take the initiative to look for opportunities to contribute to the team
  • 3+ recent years of experience with writing and content management within a wiki such as Confluence
  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Experience with improving existing documentation processes
  • A strong IT foundation
  • Knowledge of video and video editing
