The Lead Software Developer will be responsible for holistically approaching our software development cycle and working closely with the tech team as well as other internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of product features and development. A perfect candidate for this position will be organized, efficient, and energized by helping others in the department continue to grow and reach team goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead design, development, and operations of complex software systems
  • Work with cross-functional teams to help assess scope, technical concerns, and advocate for practices to improve software quality.
  • Foster an inclusive culture within the team and support engineers in their individual goals – technical, career, and personal.
  • Seek and incorporate new technologies and knowledge to solve current and foreseeable challenges.
  • Carry out other technical related duties that may be required

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field OR applicable experience
  • Minimum of one year experience leading a software team.
  • At least 3 years experience in software engineering (Node.js, Go, Python)
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational distributed databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, Postgres)
  • Experience working in cloud computing environment (AWS preferred)
  • Proficient with Git and Git workflows
  • Experience working with large volumes of data
  • Experience using deployment and orchestration tools including Jenkins and Docker
  • Team-player mentality and willing to get your hands dirty
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability, organizational skill, and attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly
