Lead Systems Engineer, Office Infrastructure
BigCommerce, named a 2017 “Best Place to Work” in Austin is looking for a driven, Lead System Engineer for our Austin Four Points office. In this exciting role, you will ensure core IT operations are supported, maintained, and constantly improving. As the Lead System Engineer you will be a very hands-on, senior member of the Office Infrastructure team. You will work with other System Engineers and Network Engineers, and Key Stakeholders to fix and help refine our office infrastructure. You will help refresh our office hardware, upgrade and maintain software, deliver services to automate desktop support, and asset tracking. You will also provide documentation and reports on the health of our office infrastructure.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as project lead on various system upgrades and maintenance
- Collaborate with various departments and vendors
- Global support of server hardware and software
- Infrastructure design and maintenance
- Support security audit procedures with logs and reports
- Write scripts that perform system tasks and change configurations
- Analyze business and IT processes, technologies and make recommendations
- Hardware upgrades and patching
- Manage office server Infrastructure
- Support Office users with access to several SaaS services
- Final escalation point for complex software and hardware issues
- Support office build outs
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and work leadership to other IT Engineers
- Document maintenance plans and knowledge articles
Who you are:
- 7+ years experience support supporting large Office Networks
- MCSE Cloud Platform and Infrastructure or equivalent experience
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, and Radius Services
- Knowledgeable in SSO, 2FA, and Password Management
- Experience in SaaS firewalls
- Expert in SCCM
- Expert in securing Microsoft Windows Systems and applications
- Expert is Disaster Recovery and High Availability of key Office Services
- Expert in PowerShell or other scripting language
- Have experience in Identity Management best practices
- Have supported multiple global offices
- Have experience building out new offices
- Have supported PCI and SOX audits
- Have experience with VMWare
- Exceptional ability to provide a high level of problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
