Linux System Administrator

We are looking for a Linux systems administrator who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring the infrastructure; also, to collaborate with other team members to develop automated monitoring strategies and deployment processes. You will become an integral part of the team, making every problem of the platform a problem of your own, and solving them accordingly.
What You’ll Do
- Help tune performance and ensure high availability of infrastructure
- Extend and maintain infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools using New Relic and other tool sets.
- Develop and maintain configuration managements solutions
- Participate in technology initiatives including the future use of EFS, RDS, and EC2 Containers in AWS.
- Partner with engineering to design large-scale distributed systems and services
- Develop system and service architecture documentation for new technologies and applications
- Ensure that systems and services move smoothly from concept to production environments that have 100% uptime requirements
- Help Document Standard Operating Procedures
- Build tools to automate processes to continuously improve efficiency in system deployment, configuration, and maintenance
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as required
- Harden Linux server installations and patch servers as necessary
Skills & Requirements
- 2 year+ of relevant experience in DevOps, or degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong Linux knowledge and/or experience including 2+ years maintaining, troubleshooting, and performing performance analysis and tuning
- Experience with Linux servers in a virtualized environment
- Ideally, have at least 1 year of experience with Amazon Web Services management. This includes but is not limited to EC2, VPC, S3, SES, SQS, SNS, and Route53
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
- Experience installing, configuring and maintaining services such as nginx, MySQL, Apache Tomcat, etc.
- Good grasp on configuration management tools, such as Ansible
- Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, security groups and vpc’s
- Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS, etc
- Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
