The Opportunity:

As part of the Digital Platform Engineering Team, you will be leading a team developing software solutions that bring together data from many different sources to support email marketing initiatives in both real-time and batch mode. You will be working on state of the art technologies to solve problems of scale and speed.

Responsibilities:

•  You will be leading a team of engineers responsible for design and development of email marketing solutions.
•  Work closely with data science, analytics, marketing, and product teams to solution and implement data pipelines supporting email marketing.
•  Manage external vendor relationships and monitor service quality and capabilities.
•  Collaborate with the broader Expedia organization to implement standard methodologies in email marketing solutions.
•  Organize, promote, and drive Agile development processes within the team.
•  Recruit, mentor, and motivate phenomenal engineering talent.
•  Build a team committed to quality, velocity, and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications:

•  B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
•  5+ years of software or data engineering experience in a large enterprise or web-scale environment.
•  Strong track-record of building and leading high-performance engineering teams.
•  Experience crafting and developing full-stack applications with data-intense business logic, algorithms, and REST API.
•  Hands-on coding experience with C#, Java, Scala, JavaScript, or Python.
•  Experience with event-driven architectures, SOA, and micro services.
•  Experience working with database architectures using technologies such as Cassandra, MongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
•  Experience working with email marketing solutions such as Eloqua and/or Message Gears a plus.
