Responsible for providing effective systems support, development, and implementation of planogramming and space planning for global and regional procurement teams. Ensures efficient and accurate organization, entry, and maintenance of new diagrams and other items and images for the GSP team library. Provides space planning support for Merchandising Presentation and allied teams. Ensures effective training and education to support space planning and related analysis and implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop the dependencies and processes connected to Store Innovation Projects.
  • Assortment – System Navigation and Trouble Shooting.
  • Software – How to create new or different variations of planograms and reporting.
  • Assignments and POG Layers – Understand macro space floor-planning tactics and process to influence the micro space planning required.
  • Create the process on how to solve each unique project.
  • Communicate and problem solve with the regional and global stakeholders ranging up to senior team leader.
  • Identify any milestone risks and communicate those risks in an appropriate fashion/timing.
  • Time tasks for each step of the process in initial phases so estimates can be extrapolated to influence resource allocation for possible full Planogram team roll-out. 
  • Participate and drive project tracking, keep documents updated.
  • Organize and engage in effective time management of self and project and discern appropriate prioritization when multiple tasks are due.
  • Support the development of process to program innovations that require planogram maintenance through round work or updates to the program that require the Store Innovation Team to stand up a run state support.
  • Proactively engage in troubleshooting and recommend solutions for new processes and tasks.
  • Consult as an expert on merchandise presentation and planograms while working on unique and undefined tasks. 
  • Partner with data analytics team- measures the effectiveness of programs post-implementation to influence if programs should scale.
  • Develop new, scalable build process for if/when the Store Innovation project scales into production work. 
  • Provide relevant micro space merchandising information to partners in Merchandising, Merchandising Operations and Regional Leadership.
  • Create planogram visuals/templates to be presented to various audiences. 
  • Create presentations on various formats to present and share-out processes and information across a broad range of possible audiences.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams including Merchandising, Merchandising Operations, Regional Operations, Store Operations, and more, serving as the primary point of contact for planogram support.
  • Partner with leadership and peers for ongoing improvement of best practices, processes, and tools.
  • Run ad-hoc analyses to identify and recommend innovative options to drive business strategy.
  • Present information effectively, respond to questions in one-on-one and group meetings involving Team Members, Team Leaders, Regional Leadership, Global Leadership, WFM IT and other vendors/service providers.
  • Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market core values and goals. 
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Skills:

  • Experienced in applying visual merchandising tactics to create and update planograms for mid- to large-scale retailer accounting for business strategies, financial goals, customer experience and store operational efficiencies.
  • Proficient in Space Planning tools with and understanding of how to manipulate and adjust the planograms to meet new requirements for the Store Innovation Project.
  • Demonstrates the understanding of category management and merchandising organizational structures and processes. 
  • Team-oriented with excellent project management and organization skills; demonstrates proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to develop effective working relationships with all levels of independent contributors and leadership.
  • Customer service oriented with ability to maintain positive attitude in all situations. 
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates time management and project management skills such as prioritizing/organizing/tracking tasks and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Able to make decisions in an ambiguous work environment by effectively embracing change, shifting priorities, and mitigating risk and uncertainty.
  • Views change as an opportunity to advance the business and the process at which we conduct our work to provide a higher level of merchandise presentation direction to our store team members and a high level of customer service to our stake holders.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Advanced knowledge of Planogram Software including MLX NextPOG, Blue Yonder and/or Spaceman.
