THE ROLE:

FloSports is looking to hire a NOC Technician II who will oversee all quality aspects of our live streams, including both proactive and on-demand quality checks, to ensure consistent and high-quality live broadcasts. This position will analyze problems, perform technical troubleshooting and incident response on systems, diagnose network and server problems, communicate updates with necessary stakeholders and will be ultimately responsible for ensuring that the problems are resolved in a timely manner.

The NOC Technician II will provide technical input, solutions, and recommendations to achieve rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement and evolution of our product. Because this position will work within a live production environment where urgency is critical, this person must be calm under pressure, have excellent time management skills and possess the proven ability to recall extensive technical knowledge quickly. The ability to work a significant amount during weekends is required (suitable time off will be available during the regular work week to compensate for time worked during the weekend).

This position will be based in Austin, TX. 

Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with networking technology – understanding how networking technologies work and the ability to remotely troubleshoot routers, switches, and other equipment is vital for NOC technicians
• Computer skills – NOC technicians must have knowledge of computer operating systems, servers, networks, and wireless technologies
• Customer service – resolving customer issues in a timely and successful manner is an important aspect of being a NOC technician
• Troubleshooting – NOC technicians employ troubleshooting skills for solving problems using a methodical approach
• Analytical thinking – analyzing given information about problems to arrive at real solutions is a must for NOC technicians
• Problem-solving skills – after diagnosing problems, NOC technicians use this skill to provide effective resolutions
• Communication skills – strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for conversing with other technicians, clients, vendors, and managers; listening skills are needed to understand client concerns and issues

Requirements:

• CCNT, CCNA, or CompTIA Network+ Certification
• AWS Practitioner Certification
• Linux+ Certification or higher
• 2+ years of experience in networking
• 2+ years of experience in broadcasting
• a bachelor's or associate’s degree in electronics, computer science or a related area, network engineering, or information technology.
