About the department
The Infrastructure department at Cloudflare handles all our data centers and network interconnections around the world, from research and development of our servers, to planning network capacity expansions, to getting our equipment anywhere in the world that it’s needed, to executing new deployments and data center expansions.
The Infrastructure Planning & Capacity Engineering team is part of Cloudflare’s global Infrastructure (INF) team. The team is the central decision making center responsible to scale Cloudflare's Infrastructure, Edge and Core. The team delivers the required speed and plan accuracy to scale seamlessly and efficiently by alleviating all potential bottlenecks.
What you'll do
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to support planning for infrastructure growth
- Collaborate at all organizational levels to perform planning and analysis, problem solving, and risk mitigation, while understanding the future state and technologies of our infrastructure
- Track and manage all deployment/ Provisioning timeline in accordance with Planning Priorities
- Create and Own all planning tickets/ Wiki Dashboards to communicate evolving plans
- Collaborate at all organizational levels to perform planning and analysis, problem solving, and risk mitigation, while understanding the future state and technologies of our infrastructure
- Own and Manage data inputs for all Planning verticals: ie. mapping hardware inventory delivery & data center timeline commencement to capacity model
- Synthesize all open POs for network equipment, coriant and low value inventory and project deployment schedule
- Fully own rack level planning in collaboration with the DCE team. Optimize rack level power and space usage for Edge and Core
- Own the server Work In Progress database and track/ project deployment timelines in Wiki
Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience
- Software Knowledge: Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel /Jira/ Wiki
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience of experience gathering requirements and designing data products (e.g. dashboards, Gantt Charts)
- Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders
