HomeAway is seeking a Policy Development Manager to join our Risk Management and Global Customer Experience Operations team. You will apply your operational and analytical knowledge to assist in improving strategies for the Customer Support organization. We seek individuals that exhibit superb attention to detail, are strategic in their thinking, have a policy background, and demonstrate a drive for efficiency, quality and global standardization. 

What you’ll do:

  • Responsibilities:
    • You will assist in researching and crafting forward-looking policy using our internal guidelines to address the needs of HomeAway’s customers, both Travelers and Partners. 
    • You should have an understanding of regulatory requirements and evolving consumer trends and expectations across global regions. Frame these considerations in terms of risk reward for the long-term health of the business. 
    • You will collaborate cross functionally with Product, Marketing, Retail, Legal and Partner Success to prioritize and develop policies that promote trust and safety in the marketplace as well as policy that are in line with our overall Marketplace Strategy.

Who you are:

  • Profile:
    • Have a BA/BS degree
    • Have 3 - 5 years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or trust and safety, including the development of policies and procedures
    • Critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to analyze data, regulatory requirements, product limitations and the effectiveness of proposed resolutions
    • Idea-driven, confident who wants to make a substantial impact
    • Collaborative teammate with the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment balancing impact to participants in the marketplace and potential risk to HomeAway
    • Excellent internal and external communication skills, including the ability to draft externally facing talking points
    • Possess strong writing and copy editing skills
    • Demonstrates core value of trust and understands the need for confidentiality and privacy with respect to complex Partner and Traveler issues and HomeAway sensitive information
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask while assisting with multi-functional teams in a dynamic environment
    • Adaptable and willingness to adapt to change
