About this role:
We are looking for a self-driven, enthusiastic, and hands-on Purchasing Manager to help our company deliver products to our quickly expanding B2B customer base. 

Using our technology, tools, while leveraging your unique problem-solving skills, you will act as liaison between our Finance and Fulfillment teams. You'll be a part of a fast-growing, mission-driven company that is the leader in our industry.  The ideal candidate will show a positive attitude, proactive instincts, have excellent communication skills, comfort with data and CRMs, and have prior experience in a purchasing or inventory management role. This position will report to the Director of Customer Success. 

As a Purchasing Manager at Atmosphere, you’ll regularly engage with internal stakeholders to plan for and implement unique solutions to procure and manage the stock of Atmosphere products. You’ll partner with various departments, including Finance, Fulfillment, Sales, and Customer Success to help customers succeed with Atmosphere.

You’ll need to be adaptive and excited at the opportunity to help invent new processes, contribute to what’s already been built, and enjoy cross-functional partnership and building new things. This business moves fast, so you will need to be comfortable in an early-stage startup where challenges appear daily. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Customer Success.

Responsibilities: 

  • Purchasing
    • Build and nurture current and new vendor relationships to ensure appropriate purchase prices, quantities available, and timely availability
    • Manage POs with Finance and ensure timely ordering, mitigating risk for supply chain issues and other challenges as the world navigates the pandemic
    • Understand and continuously re-evaluate the source and quality of existing products to allow for pivots as needed on existing and new product offerings
    • Negotiate contracts as needed
    • Develop practices for international purchasing and fulfillment
  • Inventory/Order Management
    • Assist in design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance/improvement of an inventory management using Salesforce and potentially connecting this to ERP software for procurement
    • Partner with other departments as appropriate to build a best-in-class inventory management system
    • Ensure proper controls exist for securing inventory and having reliable data to make business decisions
    • Stand up supply chain for future custom hardware project
  • Project Management
    • Budget management and reporting/monitoring/implementation of cost-saving measures
    • Provide insights from the purchasing perspective on other projects, including but not limited to: custom hardware development, fulfillment center design, etc.
    • Develop scalable international processes/procedures to support fulfillment across the world

Day to Day Overview:

  • Working closely with vendors, finance partners, and fulfillment team to decide on appropriate stock levels, reorder points, inventory processes, and appropriate documentation for all processes
  • Ensuring competitive pricing and cost levels for items we purchase
  • Designing new programs and processes as needed during quarterly OKRs
  • You are a subject matter expert in the area of Atmosphere products and processes to best support multiple departments as we scale
  • Develop and refine expertise on market conditions, changes in products, changes in price levels, terms, discounts, allowances, promotions and changes with suppliers
  • Maintain an organized order management system for vendor purchases and potentially customer purchases

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Purchasing experience, bonus if within a SaaS/high-tech/eCommerce work environment
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills in building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Strong aptitude for technology and desire to learn new software
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and positivity
  • Experience making decisions that have large impact and are made with collaboration and communication
  • Ability to take initiative, own processes and work independently as required
  • Experience with Pipedrive, Salesforce as well as ERP software such as NetSuite is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, commitment to quality work products, and well organized
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency and an ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Have a positive, team-focused attitude
