Assistant Store Manager-Full Time (Austin)

An Assistant Store Manager at Tecovas contributes to a profitable and customer-centric environment through development of a team and manages the selling and operations of the store. Supports total store operations, product flow, and applies merchant and customer service skills to curate a compelling in store experience.

Responsibilities:

LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Supports the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent to build bench for the store
  • Supports the Store Manager in creating and maintaining a succession strategy
  • Facilitates a thorough and thoughtful onboarding for New Hires
  • Takes responsibility for own development and professional growth
  • Creates a culture of action and accountability
  • Administers performance appraisals, sets goals and conducts consistent touch-bases with direct reports.
  • Ensures that coaching and counseling is consistent and timely

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

  • Cultivates an environment of genuine customer connection
  • Demonstrates extraordinary service, leading by example on the sales floor
  • Facilitates an energized pace, positive service environment and team development through the MOD role
  • Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values
  • Understands an OMNI Channel business - implements processes and utilizes tools to better service the customer

VISUAL AND BUSINESS OPERATIONS

  • Facilitates the sharing of product knowledge
  • Upholds stock-to-sales processes and presentation standards
  • Manages product placement within store that supports brand messaging
  • Maintains an effective store structure, floor plan, and appropriate fixture usage
  • Upholds and ensures compliance with shipments, transfers and restock standard within the department
  • Adheres to and develops awareness around internal and external Loss Prevention procedures
  • Upholds all Company Policy and Procedures

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS

  • Set clear objectives and expectations to drive a consistent store experience and ensure excellent operational and visual standards
  • Foster a culture of strong communication and teamwork in order to ensure a seamless balance of operational, visual and customer priorities and to facilitate problem-solving
  • Encourage and demonstrate adaptability; positively effecting change and enabling the team to successfully execute a shared vision

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Retail Management experience (Store Manager experience preferred)
  • Exceptional leadership, selling, and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results
  • Proven record of hiring and developing great talent
  • Experienced in coaching, counseling & conflict resolution
  • Independent, proactive, results-driven work ethic
  • Utmost character, honesty, and transparency

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required (College Degree preferred)
  • Continually able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention
  • Continually able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, re-stocking inventory, and store merchandising
  • Able to lift up to 30lbs regularly
  • Able to regularly perform store maintenance tasks
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be available to work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), evenings and holidays as needed
