The Opportunity
We are looking for a Sales Solutions Engineer that is passionate about solving our hardest customer problems and closing the company’s largest enterprise deals. This role will report to the Senior Data Scientist, Sales Ops.
The Sales Solutions Engineer will partner cross-functionally with the Dropoff sales team, operations team, and development team to respond to RFP/RFI opportunities in a timely manner, document customer requirements and SOPs, define technology requirements, and develop custom solutions. The person in this role is able to strategize and navigate sales cycles, provide value-based demonstrations articulating the Dropoff solution, support a technical sales process, and ultimately close business.
The Sales Solution Engineer seeks to build deep, consultative relationships with our enterprise customers, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. This trusted advisor is ideally positioned to understand the customer's high-level business objectives and match these to Dropoff solutions to satisfy the business and technical requirements.
Responsibilities
Works cross-functionally with sales, operations, development, and finance to identify product and solution opportunities for customers
Design and deliver engaging product presentations that demonstrate an in-depth understanding of both the Dropoff product suite, its functions, features, value, and ROI
Develop and manage large enterprise sales opportunities and customer pipelines including the RFP/ROI process
Runs multi-dimensional pricing models and scenarios
Create detailed documentation to be able to communicate technical requirements and operating procedures internally within Dropoff and that can be used by the customer
Manages the deployment and execution of product-based solutions for customer accounts
Seeks to identify new customer opportunity or demand for Dropoff solutions in their named accounts, as well as participate in demand generating events and activities
Understands the needs and challenges of different industries and businesses and proposes solutions to solve customer challenges at scale
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Dropoff software platform and is able to articulate the product roadmap and sell to prospective customers
Collaborates with the Dropoff product team to build new products and features while improving existing ones
Helps customers explore and implement integrations and other technical solutions
Key point of contact for training and technical support for key enterprise customers post-close
Continued involvement in recurring performance and KPI reporting that may include QBRs and ABRs and will require close collaboration with account management to ensure the customer’s needs are continually being met
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of professional experience interacting with enterprise customers in a pre-sales, consulting, or delivery capacity.
Creative problem solver who can interpret complex problem statements and summarize them down into simple solutions
Ability to collaborate with prospects, partners, and the Dropoff sales and operations teams to deliver winning solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as a high comfort level in a business and technical context while interacting with executives
Experience documenting and implementing standardized SOPs
A “can-do” perspective on a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Strong analytical skills (Excel is a must) and the ability to rapidly learn and become a subject matter expert on the Dropoff solution
Ability to lead technical scoping of complex, multi-phased implementations
A technical mindset with great attention to detail
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
B.S. degree or higher
Advanced understanding of programming/scripting languages a huge plus
Transportation and Logistics industry experience
