BigCommerce, named "Best Place to Work" in Austin in 2019 is looking for a Senior Business Development Operations Manager to work within our Revenue Operations team at our Austin Four Point Office. This role will be dedicated to partnering and supporting Business Development leadership and responsible for designing and implementing processes that enable efficiency and effectiveness across Business Development.

A successful candidate will combine years of operational experience and business acumen with a determination to drive meaningful organizational change and set a standard for operational excellence. 

What You’ll Do

  • Provide analytical leadership for Business Development across their revenue generating efforts.
  • Develop, deliver and communicate data insights and strategic recommendations to the executive leadership team in a clear and concise manner
  • Define and influence process changes and enhancements needed for cross sell, payments, partner marketing campaigns, lead routing, app marketplace and operational tools such as Salesforce, Groove and Impartner.
  • Author and maintain reporting to keep a pulse on the performance of our Business Development sales funnel (leveraging Periscope and SalesForce). Write business requirements for new reporting and have a clear understanding of the end data needed.
  • Facilitate target setting for both partner and services revenue (PSR) and monthly recurring revenue (MRR)
  • Support finance in monthly forecasting of PSR and MRR for Business Development (SBD)
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Business Development leadership and shepherd analytical needs through BigCommerce operations.
  • Provide thought leadership and assist with overall strategic delivery within current programs and new revenue generating business objectives
  • Develop business cases and economic models for new revenue streams ideated within Business Development.
  • Coordinate and communicate compensation attainment for each group in SBD 
  • Support new hires into SBD with operational training, report reviews, compensation training and Salesforce management/use.
  • Provide frequent revenue read outs throughout the months and quarters to assist leadership with tracking to targets 

Who You Are

  • Operations Professional: 8+ years professional experience, including:
    • Demonstrated experience of being proactive, making constructive suggestions, and providing innovative ways to scale initiatives
    • Ability to understand high-level sales strategies, translate them into system and process requirements, and ensure local execution and business impact. 
    • Analytical and demonstrated ability to extract key business insights through data analysis.
    • 3+ years operations experience, preferably at a SaaS, eCommerce or other subscription-based company
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
    • Demonstrated success with end-to-end process design, rollout, and project management
    • Coordinate many tasks at the same time, typically under your own direction, to ensure the work gets done and goals are met
    • Ability to learn business practices quickly and leverage knowledge to improve revenue generation, reporting, forecasting, and overall sales velocity
    • Ability to pull data from multiple sources and organize in an effective manner for management analysis
    • Technically-savvy, experienced with spreadsheet software and interpreting business intelligence reports
    • Familiarity with Salesforce.com, Confluence, JIRA, and other business applications 
    • Proven record using operations expertise to drive productivity, growth and profitability in a dynamic organization
    • Deductive reasoning abilities, advanced analytical skills and computer skills
    • Agile, self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively, and strong attention to detail
    • Track record in driving change and removing hurdles in fast growth organizations by working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance and IT
  • Systems-thinker - You approach problem-solving with an eye for mechanisms, incentives and and systematic solutions
  • Detail-oriented- You are capable of dissecting the nuances of any project, when necessary, and recognize how critical it is to ensure that the small details are in line with the overall objectives
  • Optimizer- Your nature is always to do more with less, reduce waste while increasing productivity and efficiency
  • Change Agent - You do not stop at identifying a problem, or at recommending actions, rather you measure success only when a you affect positive change or drive a resolution
  • Data-driven - You don’t believe you are successful until you can measure and quantify the impact
  • Business-savvy- Your business acumen is derived from years of experience, ideally with exposure to Sales and Marketing in a B2B context
  • Negotiator - Strong ability to influence and steer discussions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Solution Oriented - You have the ability to identify and creatively solve complex problems to keep a partnership on track
  • Self-Possessed - You know how to remain collected in a fast-paced, high pressure, dynamic environment and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Personable - You are positive, energetic, and exude a strong sense of teamwork by working effectively, respectfully, and efficiently with all team members
