The Sr. Professional Services Operations Analyst is responsible for driving tactical, day-to-day operations of the professional services organization including forecasting, dashboarding, reporting, and deep-dive analysis of finance and resource utilization. The role requires an ability to synthesize data from different sources, streamline key business processes, and drive operational efficiencies.
Work location: Austin Texas (must be willing to relocate Austin area)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Professional Services (PS) leaders to provide reports focused on financial and resource management data to aid with revenue and budgetary goals
- Coordinate with PS management to design policies and procedures that streamline and increase PS system efficiency
- Build dynamic models for ongoing PS forecasting and own the delivery of the models’ outputs to stakeholders in PS and Executive Leadership
- Track and analyze staffing utilization per changes in resource demand, demand per capacity, and project profitability
- Evaluate and implement improvements to the reporting process for all PS related activity
- Analyze data to identify ways to improve resource utilization, increase revenue, enhance service margins, and minimize risk
- Help develop the monthly resource planning process
- Design, analyze, and distribute key metrics for successful projects and deliverables
- Manage purchase order and invoice processes with subcontractors
- Design and deliver accurate, timely reports as requested and fulfil other duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or Business Management
- Two or more years of experience working daily within PSA or SAP, and Salesforce.com required
- Expert Microsoft Excel skills including experience with pivot tables, dashboarding, advanced formula writing, and some VBA knowledge required; SQL experience desired
- Previous experience in a data-driven, analytics-centric role
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Absolute attention to detail, be self-starting, excel at uncovering solutions to problems independently, and possess strong organizational skills
- Strong understanding of project financials, cost structures, GAAP revenue recognition, invoicing, and billing processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to work with employees at all levels within the organization
- Ability to confront issues proactively with management and work efficiently toward resolution
