This position can be located in Austin, TX or Washington DC

We are looking for an experienced Director, IT with a proven track record and detailed knowledge of industry’s best practice and processes, lead our IT team in order to manage our information technology to ensures the smooth operation of our computer systems and network. 

Responsibilities

  • Ensure security of data, network access, and backup systems 
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizations goals 
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in a timely manner
  • Design, develop, document, and implement systems, policies, and procedures  
  • Audit systems, assess and rectify the outcomes 
  • Work closely with departmental managers to determine our maintenance and growth needs
  • Provide efficient tracking of IT Inventory
  • Ensure uptime of local development environment servers as well as cloud and production Linux and Windows servers.
  • Management of domain and cloud environments, user accounts, email, collaboration functionality, and overall licensing.
  • Provide troubleshooting and configuration support for client desktop, networking environment and various other hardware devices.
  • Ensure all New Hire and Exit processes for employees are met
  • Keep peers and management informed of trends, significant problems, and unexpected delays.

 Qualifications

  • 7+ yrs. previous experience of working in an IT Support capacity
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud (setting up VMs, managing databases)
  • Experience working with Microsoft product suite, major bonus for GCC-High environment
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-171, Risk Management Framework (RMF), and CMMC government requirements (building out SSPs, documentation, passing the audits, etc..)
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, Enterprise SAN, NAS experience, and IT Monitoring tools
  • Hands on experience building and managing Windows, Linux, and Network solutions
  • Building a team and structure from scratch (new hire onboarding processes, determining and managing IT dept budgets)
  • Exposure and general understanding of requirements needed for a classified environment (SECRET at the moment)
  • Handling daily tickets (may be able to get this from SC but im sure not entirely)
  • BS in Information Technology and technical certifications are a plus
  • Startup experience is a strong plus
