Systems Support Lead – Austin, TX

What we’re looking for, in a nutshell:

The Systems Support Lead provides technical and operational support for all Amherst Residential\Mainstreet Renewal branch and corporate staff. This role focuses on accounting support and administration of Amherst Residential\Mainstreet Renewal financial systems. The Systems Support Lead will work closely with the software vendors and the development team to troubleshoot, track and resolve software issues. This position will manage a small support team and will report to the Director of Financial Systems.

A little more about this role:

  • Provide tier 2 support for the property management and accounting software. This includes identifying and troubleshooting issues as well as intake and evaluation of enhancement requests.
  • Assist accounting and technology staff with implementation of best practices in Amherst Residential\Mainstreet Renewal’s accounting and financial software suite.
  • Oversee the support queue in JIRA, the ticketing system utilized by Amherst Residential/Mainstreet Renewal, ensuring SLA’s for the support team are met. Manage the team responsible for routing tickets to the correct departments and Tier 1 support for Yardi.
  • Report software issues and enhancement requests to the vendor or development team and monitor progress of all outstanding requests. Works closely with his/her development and vendor counterparts to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner and escalated to management as needed.
  • Prepare documentation to support system administrative functions, procedures and processes including an internal knowledge base for the Systems Support team.
  • Supervises the Systems Support Team and oversees day-to-day support activities including balancing the workload of the team, assigning projects and monitoring productivity.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting or technical degree strongly preferred.
  • 2-4 years of similar work experience required.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems best practices, development methodologies, controls, and procedures.
  • Previous success in a fast-paced technical or accounting role highly desired.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be tech-savvy and eager to learn with the proven ability to understand and explain software.
  • Must be able to work both independently and with a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills are critical to success in this position. 
  • Experience with property management or accounting software preferred. Yardi Voyager experience is a plus. 
  • MS SQL, SSRS, SSIS skills are a plus including the ability to independently query, validate, and reconcile data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products
