Position Description: Team Lead, Risk Operations
Self is building a community of people who are looking to better their lives by building credit history. You will lead our Risk Operations team and be responsible for all operational workflows supporting card operations, incoming bank requests, compliance reviews (OFAC, KYC), credit disputes, and payment fraud investigations. You will grow and develop a rockstar team of operations analysts. You will perform project management duties in identifying reporting, tooling, and process improvements, as well as partner with our Compliance Team to ensure your team is adhering to policy requirements and SLAs set forth by our Chief Compliance Officer as well as our partner banks. You will report directly to the Director of Bank Platform Operations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the Risk Operations team to mitigate risk for our growing 500K+ active consumer loan and credit card portfolio
- Meet internal and external operational SLAs
- Set team performance goals and lead team projects to completion
- Become the company subject matter expert across compliance, credit disputes, and fraud operational workflows
- Collaborate with our Product and Engineering teams to drive tool and workflow enhancements
- Coordinate operational processes with Self’s Customer Success team to ensure an efficient customer journey when interacting with our internal risk reviews and procedures
- Coach and mentor your direct reports towards personal and career development, empowering them towards continuous improvement and larger impact to the business
- Report team performance and metric updates to the executive team
Requirements
Skills and Experience:
- 2+ years in fintech, card operations, compliance, or banking operations
- 2+ years people management experience preferred
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Strong business problem solving mindset
- High EQ and ability to build rapport with team members and stakeholders
- Strong ability to adapt and excel in a fast-moving, startup environment
