Our Liability Management team sits within the Investment Management division and manages financial operations, including liquidity planning, collateral management, treasury operations, and asset valuations, for our single-family rental (SFR) platform. The Liability Management team manages capital planning and asset performance following product launch and through the lifecycle of our investment products. We seek an experienced individual to serve as the day-to-day engineer of this critical function. The successful individual will develop a deep understanding of how each piece of the machine is designed, functions, and interacts with each other piece, as well as how to adjust these components to meet performance expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and guide team to establish, monitor and direct the operational processing of credit facilities and their portfolio collateral performance on a daily basis
  • Ensure compliance with all Equity and Liability covenants at all times
  • Develop new strategies for managing liquidity and potential margin risk in our asset-intensive single-family rental business
  • Digest complex legal documents to deeply comprehend credit line operations, ensuring collateral performance matches with loan mechanics and operational processes match with delivery obligations
  • Engage with other divisions to optimize portfolio compositions and assumption setting for existing and new business initiatives
  • Interface with senior leaders frequently to report on performance and action steps for improvement including performance, staffing and budget
  • Collaborate with Head of Liability Management to inform and improve deal structure during negotiations
  • Prepare board and executive-level reporting and materials on tight timelines
  • Finalize client presentations and interface with investment partners and potential hires

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
  • 7-10 years in investment banking, private equity, or consulting or institutional financial operations
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and developing/implementing control processes
  • Extensive ability to multitask and prioritize workstreams
  • Strong analytical mindset with both complex, detailed modeling skills AND advanced ability to read, understand and interpret complex legal documentation.
  • Strict attention to detail in complex models; ensure alignment of risk assumptions
  • Experience interfacing and succinctly communicating with clients, partners, and firm leadership
  • Deep working knowledge of SFR products and inherent key risks
  • Ability to shift gears with emerging data points and handle risk and uncertainty
  • Interpret and present analysis thoughtfully; think strategically and creatively
  • Logical and critical thinking; strong initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Solution-oriented approach and positive mindset when presenting and tackling problems
