Our Portfolio Management team sits at the center of the action, serving as leaders and collaborators with every function that serves the lifecycle of our investment products. We seek a highly motivated individual to play a key role in the execution of portfolio optimization for our many investment vehicles invested in single-family rental (SFR) properties. We communicate with leading institutional investors daily and must articulate our strategy and performance well. We are subject matter experts in many areas of the firm –including venture strategy, asset management, debt optimization, cash management, financial reporting and performance, valuation, and valuation attribution. This high visibility team serves as the internal fiduciary for investors –working across all departments to ensure key messages, analysis, and strategy implementation result in optimal portfolio performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and guide team members to ensure a high-quality work product with met goals
Model scenarios for optimization, including IRR analysis, valuation attribution analysis, cash flow pro formas, and others –requires the ability to build, execute, and manage complex PM infrastructure
Evaluate risk exposure and monitor asset management execution to determine optimal playbooks and strategies; including the communication and presentation of these to investors
Develop astute understanding and assist in building infrastructure for cash management, debt optimization, and portfolio performance tracking
Collaborate with senior leaders to generate new ideas and further initiatives
Coordinate work product with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory parties
Collaborate across all teams to further new business initiatives and manage existing businesses
Prepare board and executive-level reporting and materials on tight timelines
Finalize client presentations and interface with investment partners and potential lenders
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA nice-to-have, CFA welcome
7-10 years in investment banking or private equity, with prior real estate experience required
Experience managing a team, leading full processes start-to-finish, and engaging with investors
Excellent executive communication skills with a desire to develop detailed, diverse real estate expertise
Prior experience in public or private real estate (including commercial) with demonstrated ability to:
Run portfolio teams and complex financial modeling (solid Excel and PPT skills)
Apply deep understanding of deal structuring and financing (debt, equity)
Shift gears with emerging data points and proactively manage expectations, suggesting solutions
Interpret and present analysis thoughtfully
Manage self and team’s time efficiently; take initiative to work independently and as part of a team
Consult with and present directly to clients
Present a keen interest in understanding and following capital markets
Independent, logical, and critical thinker with solutions-orientation when presenting problems
