Principal Solutions Consultant
You know what consultants do. Consultants work closely with clients to help them solve problems and align changes in culture to optimize success. At Civitas Learning, the Principal Solutions Consultant role takes on an even greater sense of urgency considering the needs of our partners. Maintaining our nation’s economic competitiveness requires a million more credentialed college and university graduates every year between now and 2025. Our senior consultants ensure successful student completion is the most important work we need to do.

We are looking for a Principal Solutions Consultant who shares that same dedication for mission-driven work; an individual who will provide value-added services for colleges and universities, and work hand-in-hand with them to solve problems, aid in discovery, and foster environments where students succeed.
Primary Responsibilities
Gain a deep understanding of our partner success plans, partners’ student success initiatives, and the solutions we are bringing to market
Provide outstanding value to our partners as you help them solve big problems by leveraging data insights and actionable analytics
Research issues and solutions
Listen actively to a broad set of partner stakeholders including presidents and provosts, institutional research, technology leaders, academic affairs, faculty, advisors, etc
Administer training sessions for our partners
Prepare, facilitate, and lead discussions at every level within an institution
Understand and articulate specific institutional contexts and drivers to include mission, access orientation, selectivity, funding sources and models, faculty governance level, etc.
Apply appropriate pedagogical techniques (e.g. design exercises, collaborative learning, etc.) working with partners to hypothesize and test solutions
Write and deliver reports and recommendations, synthesizing complex ideas
Become a trusted advisor to our partners
Assist in supporting company strategy (e.g. committee work, R&D contribution, design sprints, etc.)
Travel 50-75%
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Education or related field (Ph.D. preferred)
10+ years experience working with higher education, either in administration or consultative capacity
Experience working with higher education thought leaders in the private and public sectors (e.g. demonstrated experience working with developing members of faculty, work with community college guided pathways an asset, etc.)
Demonstrated ability or aptitude to work in a startup environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to share the Civitas mission equally well with existing partners and large crowds of education professionals
Must possess personal qualities of integrity and dedication to the company’s mission
