Position Description:

We are seeking a Product Development Manager to lead all product development efforts at Tecovas as we evolve into the country's favorite western brand. The most important responsibility will be full ownership of new product design & development -- from concept to physical package in our customer's hands.

Our Founder & CEO has been leading design and product development from day one, and as we expand our operation and product offering (beyond boots), we are looking for an experienced development and process manager to take the reins and work directly with the Founder & CEO on the design and creation of our physical merchandise and packaging.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

This role will report to the Founder/CEO and will work closely with our Director of Production in León (and future production locations) on all elements of product development.

This job will require significant travel (~2-3 times monthly) to factories and suppliers, but travel requirements will vary based on seasonality and merchandising decisions.

Qualifications:

The ideal Product Development Manager is a detail-oriented, design-savvy, experienced product manager. Specific experience with footwear, leather goods, or apparel is not required but is a plus. In the world of Product Development roles being more Design-focused or Project Management-focused, this role will lean toward Project Management, but a keen eye for design is crucial. Specific qualifications:

• BA/BS degree
• 3-6 years of Product Development and/or Product Management experience
• Strong product sense and acute understanding of the marketplace and the Tecovas customer
• Strong detail-oriented, organizational, and project management skills
• Design experience or educational focus a plus
• Leather goods or apparel/accessories experience a plus
• Strong written communication skills
• Spanish fluency or functionality is a plus
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed and resourceful – someone who will thrive in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment
• Utmost character, honesty, and transparency so as to accurately represent our brand ethos
