Job Summary:

The Product Manager of the Audience Building & Monetization (AB&M) team oversees the delivery, adoption and evolution of key revenue-driving products. This individual will play a key role in mission-critical business decisions across various teams (Engineering, Sales, Finance, Design etc.), and negotiate the impacts to both internal and external operations. In addition, this role requires the ability to understand and manage complex technical dependencies across systems, to ensure delivery of innovative products at an aggressive pace.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in ad technology, specifically relevant to driving operational efficiencies and app monetization, and have the desire to identify and explore innovative use cases by combining traditional ad tech capabilities with other key elements of the mobile ecosystem (Marketing Automation, Analytics, Big Data etc.).

This leader will work closely with other product managers to help drive vision and strategy with executive leadership, oversee design & delivery with creative and engineering teams, and also work closely with our Sales and Customer Success teams to generate revenue and market adoption. 

A Week In Your Shoes:

  • Work with Director of Product Management to execute release definition, planning, prioritization and delivery
  • Huddle with creative teams to perform usability tests of wireframes & mockups for our demand-side campaign management tools
  • Create detailed user stories for new native ad placement capabilities, and negotiate timelines with engineering and QA to ensure an optimal developer experience
  • Gather feedback from customer developer partners to understand how to ensure a seamless Ad SDK integration process
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning meetings with Eng leadership; prioritize production support tasks as needed, contribute to retrospective processes
  • Evaluate and negotiate integrations with potential ad tech partners
  • Be a product evangelist, both with internal teams and external customers, as part of Go-To-Market activities to drive global adoption of new technologies across devices and screens
  • Fluently represent Phunware’s value proposition to our customers during partnership and sales discussions as needed
  • Ensure our product line is competitive and relevant in the marketplace and deliver value that is unique to the market position that Phunware occupies

What We Look For:

  • 5+ years of industry experience across the mobile ecosystem, especially with mobile Ad Technologies
  • Deep understanding of the mobile ad tech ecosystem and advertising business models
  • Experience working with a range of ad networks, agencies, media buying platforms and exchanges
  • Ability to articulate the differences between a DSP, SSP, DMP, TMZ and RTB, and the experience to know which acronym we made up
  • Hunger for data and analytics to drive audience segmentation and targeting
  • Razor sharp communication skills and equivalent sense of humor
  • Ability to adeptly navigate Confluence, JIRA and agile development methodologies
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit, with insatiable curiosity for finding new ways to help the world’s largest brands reach every connected device on the planet
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally across various teams
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) required
  • Must be living in Austin, TX area or be able to immediately relocate (relocation assistance available)
