The Opportunity

Want to craft memorable vacation experiences? At HomeAway we help travelers discover and book unique vacation rentals for their families and groups. Once a booking is complete, how do we deliver the key pieces of information, at the right time, to ensure our travelers have a memorable trip and want to come back and book again? Travel can be stressful and complications often happen, so understanding what travelers might need and when can make the difference between a miserable and memorable vacation. As the Product Manager for the Traveler Stay Experience, you get to build products that impact our customers' happiness and brand loyalty.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive the product vision and strategy for traveler's engagement with HomeAway after they book a vacation rental
  • Define and build delightful traveler experiences and initiatives across web and mobile app platforms that facilitate all phases of the traveler journey – from trip planning and essential hospitality content to driving repeat bookings
  • Build product touchpoints that collect traveler signals from on positive and negative experiences that inform our marketplace and help property owners/managers succeed
  • Collaborate with product marketing to research feature requirements that balance traveler and supplier needs
  • Monitor and investigate customer feedback, net promoter scores, customer support metrics, and A/B test results to make sure customer needs and concerns are being addressed
  • Work closely with UX designers to research, define, and test next generation experiences
  • Collaborate daily with the Development team to ensure projects are clearly defined and properly phased to facilitate timely delivery of functionality
  • Launch new features or products by collaborating with customer service, product marketing and marketing on go-to-market and lifecycle marketing strategies
  • Lead market competition watch activities to identify gaps and opportunities to improve the traveler's stay experience
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to track and report on primary outcomes (e.g. adoption, conversion, A/B test significance)

What we look for:

To be considered for the position, you have shown current and meaningful expertise in directing product strategy and development of consumer-focused products. Product Managers should be passionate about well-designed online and mobile products, end user experience, and current and evolving standard methodologies in software development.

  • 5+ years of Product Management experience
  • Experience with UI/UX design and usability
  • Experience with online A/B testing to drive improvement in customer experience and business results
  • Experience utilizing web analytics and data analysis to aid business decisions
  • Experience with customer centricity and voice of the customer programs
  • Travel industry experience preferred
  • Ability to lead large, complex, international projects in a dynamic environment
  • Validated experience in embracing product management standard methodologies and policies
  • Ability to collaborate closely with designers and usability researchers to drive product enhancements
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • High level of initiative and commitment to building a premier user experience for our customers
  • BS or BA in computer science or an equivalent field
  • Willing to travel up to 10% Internationally
