Associate Product Manager

| Austin

Iodine Software equips healthcare teams with the most innovative tools to quickly identify and prioritize discrepancies in their clinical documentation.  By leveraging powerful technologies like Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing, our platform can both predict the underlying health conditions affecting patients and interpret the existing clinical documentation. This allows for identification of gaps, ambiguities, and inaccuracies that impact patient care and outcomes.

Our products have had great success in the market, and we're looking to grow our team to further capitalize and expand on our success. As an Associate Product Manager you will be responsible for contributing to the future of Iodine’s product lines, both in the details of how we build product features and also providing input on what investments we should make in the future. You’ll work with our clients, end-users, and representatives from across Iodine to gather the info you need to build innovative software and help grow Iodine’s footprint in the healthcare industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Become the subject matter expert on the industry we serve and our products’ role, and help other teams develop the same expertise in those areas

  • Work with industry experts and clients to learn about the challenges in healthcare today, and what ways we can help solve them

  • Lead ambitious projects, working with multiple teams across the company, to take ideas for new products and turn them into reality

  • Collaborate with the rest of the Product team to identify new product opportunities and determine priorities

  • Clearly communicate the problems our clients have and details on how we plan to address them to internal teams and other stakeholders

  • Constantly collaborate and gather feedback from clients and other teams to guide your decision making

What you'll need:

  • Innate desire to work towards ambitious goals and get things done, pushing through obstacles and roadblocks along the way

  • Creative problem solving skills and curiosity to discover the core problem buried under the surface of an idea or suggestion, and then abstract that to understand how it generally impacts the client base as a whole

  • Nonstop interest in discovery and learning, and the ability to apply those learnings to invent new solutions and product features

  • Strong verbal and written client-facing communication skills, both to gather information and ideas, and also to present features and functionality

  • Technical skills to understand the specifics of the software development lifecycle, such as user stories, product requirements, and backlog grooming

  • Empathy to understand the users’ perspective and and act as their advocate when working with developers and other technical teams

  • Understanding of modern concepts of software design, and the ability to collaborate with designers to build mock-ups and prototypes for new features

  • Analytical skills to gather data and articulate the business case for technical initiatives to non-technical team members and clients

  • Interpersonal skills to work with multiple teams of different personality types and communication preferences, keeping everyone motivated and in sync throughout complex projects

  • Negotiation skills to bring groups of people with differing opinions to a consensus on the right priorities to set and the trade-offs that need to be made.

  • Organization skills to manage multiple concurrent projects and tasks while staying on track and meeting commitments

  • Curiosity to interview clients and elicit their needs in an objective way, getting at the core of their feedback, whether it is positive or negative

  • Intuition to understand the user-facing impact of highly technical concepts, such as machine learning and natural language processing

  • Interest in learning about the healthcare industry, including topics ranging from insurance reimbursement to clinical and diagnostic processes.

  • 1+ years experience in consumer-facing product management or equivalent role

  • Ability to travel occasionally as necessary

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience working at a startup and/or enterprise software company

  • Background in healthcare industry

  • Technical experience such as familiarity with programming and databases

  • Experience in software design, wireframing, prototyping, or mockups
