Job Description

As an Associate Product Manager, reporting to our VP of Product, you will help manage RapidDeploy Nimbus, RapidDeploy’s Cloud-Aided Dispatch™ product. In partnership with current Product Managers and Product Owners, you will be responsible for discovering and documenting product features to build, planning their order and priority, and ensuring they are built to your specifications and acceptance criteria. Specifically, as an Associate Product Manager, you will own the User Experience & Design function of RapidDeploy Nimbus, as well as aid in ideation, product strategy, and product road mapping. You will directly engage with customers outside of the organization, as well as customer stakeholders and internal groups at all levels of the organization, specifically Engineering, to ensure product excellence.

What You’ll Be Doing at RapidDeploy:

  • Support user and customer interaction via onsite and remote observations and planning sessions
  • Document features, functionality, workflows and customer use case scenarios with supporting, in-depth details to meet development acceptance criteria
  • Own the ideation and planning of user discovery activities to define business problems, test your assumptions, and validate solutions
  • Conduct rapid prototyping using wireframes and click-through animations to test and iteratively improve user experience and workflows together with customers & internal stakeholders
  • Build shovel-ready user stories that accurately define business problems and what the product must do to solve them, with clear acceptance criteria and User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) designs where appropriate
  • Serve as RapidDeploy’s US-based UI/UX expert for RapidDeploy Radius, both for communications center web applications as well as first responder mobile applications. Your direct, face-to-face engagement with users, and your deep understanding of how they work and the environment in which they work, will continuously improve the usability of RapidDeploy Nimbus
  • Collaborate with Senior Product Management, Product Managers and Product Owners on the management of a broad spectrum of features, including internally facing enhancements that will improve the efficiency of system administration at scale
  • Build in voice of customer and user feedback throughout the product lifecycle
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the value and functionality of Nimbus products
  • Clearly and confidently communicate via demos, feature summaries and other artifacts to both internal and external audiences

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University
  • 2+ years of work experience in a Product Management capacity in a technology company
  • Strong command of UI design and UX principles with demonstrable success in making web and mobile applications more efficient to use
  • Demonstrated track record of product leadership
  • Knowledge of agile software development practices (e.g., scrum)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated successful customer interaction capabilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and goal-driven environment

Preferred (these are considered a plus, but are not required for consideration for this role):
