At MongoDB, we are building the modern data platform for our customers.  The MongoDB Database Experience team’s goal is to make working with data easier for developers and deliver intuitive, and powerful experience. We succeed when users’ applications are easier to develop, debug, enhance, scale and maintain.

To achieve our goal, we design and build the machinery that handles all interactions between application and the database and we implement novel capabilities such as - MongoDB Query Language (MQL), timeseries, analytics features, aggregation framework, consistent and performant query experience, intelligent query isolation, configurable indexes, and providing a comprehensive framework for managing concurrent, transactional access to data within a MongoDB database.

We are looking for an exceptional product management leader to come join our team and take on a key role in our Core Database product organization. This is a rare opportunity to join a company that is leading innovation in a $60B+ market. The team leads product direction, packaging, and pricing for the fastest growing database technology. The position will be based in our New York City office.

This role can be based out of our New York City office or remotely in the United States.

Responsibilities

• In this role you will be responsible for leading the MongoDB database experience product management team
• Drive product vision, strategy and roadmap and collaborate with product teams to compile backlog based on customer needs, market data, and competitive intelligence
• Deeply understand all aspects of the business - to ensure a business outcome aligned with our broader product, customer and company needs.
• Actively maintain a view of how the market, competition and technologies are evolving, and factor competitive information and customer feedback into our product direction
• Collaborate with product marketing, support and sales to solve for business limiters within your control and pursue key business accelerants

Requirements

• 7+ years experience in product management or technical product management role in enterprise software technology industry; bonus if those were database, analytics or log management products
• Skills to effectively communicate product strategy to all of the relevant stakeholders; ability to translate technology features into business benefits
• Results-proven experience working with or implementing product management best practices such as design thinking and lean startup in industry-leading enterprise software companies
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to present to large audiences (e.g. MongoDB World)
• Strong team skills and experience to bring together diverse views, can-do attitude, optimism, humility, willingness to embrace the unknown
• Leadership experience in building and retaining strong and diverse teams is a plus
• Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Marketing or related field, plus MBA or equivalent advanced degree
