We’re looking for an experienced Design Manager to work across the Babylon member ‘Core Experience’. This role would work across a range of service areas including: 


Onboarding patients to the Babylon service (sign up, eligibility, MFA, first use, consents etc.)

Developing a holistic, scalable ‘actions’ framework, so members know what to do next

Developing a holistic, scalable home screen framework 

Define a holistic approach for Babylon members who have families and/or careers 

Account management (profile, membership, preferences, payments, etc) 

Develop a framework for Member communications (notifications, email, SMS, feedback channels) As a member of the Experience Design leadership team, it involves leading design across core experience, line managing and overseeing the work of the designers and collaborating closely with our partners in product, marketing and engineering to optimize and improve our member experience.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

  • Lead design across ‘Core Experience’; connecting that to a broader service vision
  • Be a true peer to the Product, Marketing and Engineering Leads - supportive yet challenging and using your emotional intelligence to foster excellent team-work and decision making.
  • Balance customer value versus effort and to ensure the roadmap is informed and validated by research and evidence 
  • Partner with Design Systems team to design usable and accessible patterns in core experiences at an organism level and evangelize adoption in the product design teams
  • Facilitate cross-discipline sessions as part of early product definition - likely pulling from a tool box of lean UX approaches, design sprint and prototyping methods 
  • Partner with user research to shape strategic research across the journey stage
  • Create user journey and service maps illustrating user needs, pain points, and business opportunities as we evolve our products to support Value Based Care. 
  • Guide your team when defining processes and approaches for tackling design or research problems 
  • Oversee the design work within your team ensuring a high standard of quality
  • Ensure our products follow accessibility standards and create a standard by encouraging contribution to our design system guidelines
  • Act as a guardian of team culture, identifying issues that may impact morale and help to mitigate
  • Inspire, teach, line manage and conduct performance reviews for the designers in your team
  • Help build a strong design and learner-mindset culture by sharing your teams experiences with the design chapter, being an evangelist for user-centric approaches in the broader organization, and actively participating in the design community

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Ability to make others better through work reviews and critiques, thorough documentation, guidance, teaching and mentoring. 
  • Expertise in several core design skills. We don’t believe in the design unicorn, so we expect a specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise across the UX and product design spectrum of core skills. 
  • Mature people and leadership skills. Design is not only about craft and at this level we also expect you have begun to master several key people and leadership skills. These include communication and presentation skills - ability to communicate design effectively, regardless of the audience; receiving and giving constructive feedback; and leading workshops as a design facilitator. 
  • Experience facilitating workshops and leading meetings. Proven ability to collaborate successfully with cross-functional peers and teams (AI, Engineering, Marketing, Product) to develop concepts and products. ● Ability to clarify success metrics and tie efforts toward delivering business value● Understands how their work fits in to the overall Babylon service, identifying blockers and problems and actively works to fix them ● A keen eye for detail, but ability to rapidly solve problems using everything from a basic sketch to high fidelity prototypes
