We are seeking a product leader to join our growing Team! Do you have hands-on experience in defining and building products on SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS platforms and/or experience building large-scale applications? Are you an experienced leader of product teams? In this role, you will have the autonomy to guide a team that defines and builds critical features for our broad range of customers. As a leader, you will guide and up-level your product managers using tested product management methodologies, including discovery and research initiatives to identify impactful and crafted solutions for existing and new offerings. You will challenge assumptions about how our customers use our platform, and define innovative approaches to meet our customer’s business needs. With your expertise, you will drive continuous advancements and improvements through our product strategy, business proposition, and technical direction. You will help us seek and implement new ways to deliver a comprehensive managed WordPress platform to our customers while improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of our offerings.

The day to day.

  • Lead a team of product managers in delivering their best every day

  • Own the overall product success within your team’s portfolio.

  • Define, implement and measure product and product manager success metrics.

  • Work with other leaders and product managers to form a comprehensive offering.

  • Discover and map business requirements to new products & features which enable customers to standardize on WP Engine.

  • Develop a product strategy and translate it into creative, high quality, features, and initiatives.

  • Guide product managers and other cross-functional leaders to focus our investments in the right areas.

  • Work closely with the engineering teams to design, schedule, and deliver in an agile environment.

  • Build solutions that reduce workload for our Customer Experience (CX) organization, while enabling customers with valuable self-service capabilities.

  • Lead Program Management and Scrum teams towards the right priorities. Set clear expectations on projects, product launches, and coordinated release plans.

  • Groom and prioritize your product backlog effectively by leading trade-off discussions with key partners.

  • Use data to develop high-quality insights into user's experience

  • Hold an uncanny ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external partners.

Your skills and expertise.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in a field with a strong emphasis on technology (Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Analytics, Mathematics, and/or Business).

  • 5+ years of experience in the technology industry in engineering and/or Product Management teams.

  • 2+ years of experience directly leading product teams

  • Deep understanding of software development platforms, web platforms, databases, and/or software-defined infrastructure.

Preferred Skills:

  • History of building successful products for Fortune 1000 companies

  • Validated results of influencing partners in a highly-matrix cross-functional organization.

  • Strong communication relating to software product features, technical designs, and product strategy effectively to both technical and non-technical teams.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.

  • Understanding of how developers and engineers maintain their systems, servers, databases, logs, events, metrics, and applications.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in software implementation lifecycle (Agile, Iterative, and Incremental, etc.)

  • Able to perform SQL queries and analysis with large-scale datasets.

  • High attention to detail and experience leading multiple, contending priorities simultaneously.

  • History of teamwork and a readiness to roll up one's sleeves to push things over the finish line!
