The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at HomeAway for Senior Manager, Technical Product Management within our Analytics Platform team. In this role, you will lead a team of technical product managers and be actively involved in delivering solutions and developing the skills of your team. Our Analytics Platform team is passionate about developing cloud based real-time data products and employee analytics self service tools that enable anyone within the company to analyze data and make business decisions faster. 

The Manager of Technical Product Management for our Analytics Platform will play an integral part in defining the Analytics Platform product strategy while empowering a team of technical product managers to deliver solutions that our internal stakeholders love. We are looking for a professional who is laser focused on execution, capable of understanding the big picture, and has a proven track record of working collaboratively with cross-functional and geographically diverse teams. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver, passionate about performance and an inspirational leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of highly skilled Technical Product Managers while also participating as an individual contributor building analytic platforms, data products, and tools
  • Provide program and product management oversight for the work streams of the Analytics Platform team 
  • Collaborate with stakeholder across the entire business to develop a deep understanding of their business and distill their priorities into a product strategy
  • Create strategy and vision for product portfolios in the areas of Corporate, Growth Marketing, Brand and Integrated Marketing, Retail, Finance, Marketplace Design and Supply.
  • Create and present executive level presentations to the senior leadership 
  • Run monthly product reviews and 120 day planning processes for the Analytics Platform team 
  • Drive the planning of product programs, including capacity planning and budget forecasting
  • Mentor your team to ensure each technical product manager is using best practices for developing product requirements, user stories, backlogs and roadmaps
  • Meet frequently with product, engineering and business stakeholders to develop a deep 
  • Partner with the product and engineering lead(s) to ensure the team's road map and backlog priorities are maintained to enable a smooth agile development process and minimize blockers
  • Monitor the team's development velocity and facilitate the resolution of risks and blockers

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management, Program/Project Management and/or Scrum Master experience in a high-tech company, preferably in a B2C ecommerce environment using Agile frameworks
  • 2+ years experience managing product teams creating self-service data products like OLAP cubes, Tabular cubes, clickstream funnel analytics and deep exploratory analytics
  • Experience building analytics solutions on Cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure a plus
  • Experience supporting product portfolios in the areas of Corporate, Growth Marketing, Brand and Integrated Marketing, Retail, Finance, Marketplace Design and Supply
  • Ability to communicate persuasively, build strong-relationships, and collaborate with key stakeholders and peers 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts to highly engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience defining and authoring solution strategy for large scale software products
  • Demonstrated experience driving agile software development with engineering, quality assurance, and functional teams
  • Full product line life cycle management experience, including user acceptance testing, launch, and end of life processes
  • Ability to lead teams through issue resolution and risk management
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related area, or equivalent industry experience
