What is Spreetail

Spreetail is an ecommerce company that currently operates VMInnovations, a multi-marketplace retailer that sells thousands of awesome products through major marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. Spreetail is currently in the middle of building something big, new, and exciting due to launch in 2019 with a simple mission: to make customers’ lives better through exceptionally fast service, great products, and community impact.

Originally from Lincoln, Nebraska, Spreetail has recently expanded into two new offices based in Omaha, NE and Austin, TX with rapidly growing teams. We currently have hundreds of employees across the company, and are searching for crazy smart, talented, visionary people.

As a Product Development Manager, you will:

  • Work cross-functionally with team members in particularly the Category Development and Sourcing Manager and suppliers to formulate specifications, development schedules, test and qualification criteria to ensure new products are launched within the specified project requirements.
  • Communicate product specifications and work with supplier / factory to maintain costs while exceeding quality metrics.
  • Collect and supply financial information to the team such as equipment needed, tooling costs and other resources required to complete the project.
  • Evaluate designs and prototypes for performance and reliability.
  • Review test results and recommend corrective actions to ensure the product is developed using sound engineering principles.
  • Maintain and update project development histories in with information including but not limiting to:
  • - Quotation

    - Project Costs

    - Specification

    - Schedule

    - Test history

  • Ensure smooth transitions from the development to the manufacturing phase of projects.
  • Be responsible for the overall production and quality assurance of assigned categories.
  • Search for and promotes new ideas that might be applicable to the company’s products.
  • Oversee development projects to improve and reduce costs of existing products and processes.
  • Support quality team to resolve production issues.
  • Be responsible for the overall production and quality assurance of assigned categories.
  • Execute product testing procedures and understand product regulations and legal requirements.

We look forward to learning more about your experience with:

  • 5+ years experience relevant to developing products in the consumer goods industry.
  • Working with technical and non-technical individuals to bring a consumer product to market.
  • Managing multiple technical product development projects simultaneously
  • Applying engineering principles, practices, and procedures in a minimal supervision environment
  • Understanding of domestic and international manufacturing processes
  • Ability to stay organized and systematic in a fast-paced company to ensure critical requirements are not missed.
  • International experience with sourcing and working with multiple companies of different sizes and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Project experience a big plus)
  • A technical or engineering degree - this is desired, but not required
