About the Job: 

This role is fast paced, future focused and mission critical.  You will report to the Sr. Director of Blackbaud Labs and focus on managing the roadmap and go-to-market planning for products that have been approved for incubation or investment consideration.  In this role, you will work collaboratively with a startup-style team to help refine product ideas, assess product-market fit, and make recommendations to stakeholders at go/no-go checkpoints. You will be expected to be a “product owner,” a market and customer problem expert, and a team leader. You will be working with all major groups around Blackbaud and expected to hit the ground running. 

This role requires a strong understanding and skill set in product management as well as supreme organization and communication skills. You must be knowledgeable on Agile and Pragmatic Product Management best practices, as well as “Lean Startup” methodology.  Experience successfully bringing new technologies, customer segments, pricing or delivery models, and ideas to market via an established market-leading company is a strong plus.  

Location: 

 Charleston SC is preferred. Candidates who can work from other Blackbaud hub-offices, e.g. Austin TX, will also be considered. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for market analysis, insight, market problem ideation 

  • Development of personas, defining the market opportunity, differentiating features and value proposition, bringing the user experience to life through continuous development and delivery 

  • Transforming market analysis and identified market problems into an achievable roadmap  

  • Owns the Labs “backlog” -- which may include multiple products at a time -- including the creation of relevant documents (epics, stories, scope docs, etc) and work closely with engineering and design to execute the product features per specification 

  • Works as an extension of the RDO Product Management team 

  • Own the transition plan for projects (into RDO/the business)  

  • Lead an Agile/SCRUM cadence to bring solutions to the market iteratively through short-cycle design and scrum interaction 

  • Ensure target-customer focus by communicating and building rapport with customers and be the voice of the customer throughout the product development process 

  • Work collaboratively across many other teams to drive product success in all business, development and operation areas 

  • Help measure and drive global business results for the products 

  • Help create and drive business and technical strategy 

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years experience in relevant roles at a commercial software or cloud company 

  • Passion for helping individual change agents and organizations achieve their missions 

  • Adept at understanding, and curious about, new technologies, systems, and tools 

  • Deliver results working across teams in other organizations 

  • Strong communication skills: Effective presenting internally and externally; proven ability to run effective meetings; comfortable interacting at all levels of an organization 

  • Demonstrated ability to get things done under minimal supervision  

  • Ability to drive results across cross-functional teams 

  • Ability to build and understand financial models and business cases 

  • Experience in Product Management, Pragmatic Marketing, Scrum or other Agile development practices and tools preferred 

  • Experience in client or customer-facing role a plus
