The Marketplace Performance team at HomeAway is growing fast. From developing personalization algorithms to driving conversion, we are working to help property owners understand the behaviors that help the marketplace thrive while trying to guide travelers to a getaway they will love. The role will confront challenges on data quality/scale, educating owners on the traveler funnel and how that correlates with their success, storytelling/public speaking and design. The opportunity is so promising that performance metrics is one of the central investments for the future of HomeAway and a disruptor to the entire industry.

As a Product Manager for Performance Metrics, you will work with the performance metrics, revenue management, data science, data platform, partner and traveler teams to drive the vision for Performance Metrics. You’ll partner with our leaders to understand objectives, and then work alongside our engineers to execute on the product roadmap. The job will require you to present frequently in front of internal/external C-level executives, support teams, at public and private events and regular company all-hands. We’re looking someone who loves to get on stage and make complex problems seem simple. Simply put – we want you to be HomeAway’s leading expert on what makes partners successful in our marketplace.

  • Lead the Marketplace Performance - Performance Metrics Product Line Team with ownership of core metrics that affect our partners revenue framed around the traveler conversion funnel
  • Develop and execute the vision, strategy and roadmap for ensuring every HomeAway traveler can easily find the perfect vacation rental via optimized listings
  • Drive algorithms that align the interests of Travelers, Owners, & HomeAway leading to increased customer relevance and greater marketplace contributions to their performance
  • Act as the product champion and evangelize the product vision effectively to stakeholders and independently drive alignment on product requirements
  • Evolve marketplace algorithms through a “build, measure, learn” approach, informed by A/B testing and statistical analysis of search behaviors
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify gaps and opportunities that will further inform the product roadmap for our sort platform

Who You Are:

  • 2-5 years Product management experience understanding, communicating, and prioritizing technology business requirements
  • Self-starter with demonstrated strengths managing multiple projects simultaneously and driving them to completion with limited direction
  • Ability to evangelize and articulate innovative technology for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven skills at cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple business and technical teams
  • Proven influencing skills: the ability to manage expectations of business partners while maintaining productive relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build and manage highly complex projects
  • Proven knowledge of statistics, economics and e-commerce standards/best practices
  • Strong track record of managing complex project schedules, resources and communications. Experience with the agile methodology a plus
  • Solid understanding of technical concepts, architecture, software engineering a requirement. Previous experience in software engineering a plus
  • Experience working with or managing Data Scientists preferred
  • Experience in the travel vertical + eCommerce, including behavioral analysis/optimization is a plus
  • Masters in economics, statistics, decision systems, computer science a plus
