About the role:

We are looking for a mid-level contract product manager to join our Organize Zone on a 6 month contract while the lead PM for this area is on maternity leave starting mid-September. This contract will begin before the lead PM departs for maternity leave, giving you the opportunity to quickly ramp into this role with their help.

Evernote’s mission is to help our users remember everything and accomplish anything.  Our Organize Zone lies right at the center of this mission, responsible for all of Evernote’s capabilities to organize, search, retrieve and intelligently suggest content to our users.  As Contract Product Manager for our Organize Zone, you will be a key part of the cross-functional team responsible for improving, developing and shipping functionality and user experiences that help our users store their content and find the information they need when they need it. This is an opportunity to have a real impact on a consumer product with more than 200M registered users, as the Organize Zone will be shipping new functionality that will significantly advance Evernote during the period of this contract.

You will report to one of our Directors of Product Management, who will be temporarily overseeing the Organize Zone, in addition to their other responsibilities, during this period.

What you'll do:

  • Closely collaborate with a multi-functional team of engineering, design, research, analytics, marketing and customer support partners to ensure the experiences we are developing and shipping are both impactful and deliver customer delight
  • Define and execute the product roadmap, improving existing features and guiding new features in late-stage development through preview, beta, GA and iterative release processes
  • Improve on features in market through iteration and careful curation of follow-on functionality
  • Partner with marketing to launch new features, making sure that the experiences you are shipping are reaching the right customers and are yielding the desired results
  • Manage the daily performance of new functionality through tracking and optimization that continuously improves performance of your products and features
  • Monitor and report on metrics and manage key existing services supporting content search and retrieval

What you've done:

  • Built and shipped consumer technology products; mobile app experience preferred
  • Hands-on product management of agile development processes
  • Driven business outcomes through data based decision-making, user testing, data analysis, and A/B testing
  • Proven yourself as a communicator who can effectively convey your opinions to peers respectfully and candidly
  • Curated a passion for inventing finely crafted, people-centered experiences – incredible attention to detail in language, usability and design
  • 2+ years of product management experience, preferably consumer apps at scale

Who you are:

  • A team player, analytical and curious, driven to deliver, detail-oriented, and trustworthy
  • The kind of person likely to become an Evernote user, if you aren’t one already

Location:

  • At Evernote, we are all working remote right now, and we don’t know quite when we’ll be heading back to the office.  You should assume that the majority of this contract will be conducted fully remote.  Working hours will be largely Pacific time, to align with your team.
  • If you’re based in Redwood City, San Diego, Bothell, Austin, Santiago (Chile) or Viña del Mar (Chile), and our office in that city opens up during the contract duration, you’re welcome to come work out of our offices.

Finally, while this is not a formal contract-to-hire position, if you impress us, good things might happen.

We are committed to an inclusive and diverse Evernote. We believe that different perspectives lead to better ideas, and better ideas allow us to better understand the needs and interests of our diverse, global Evernote Community. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives and are an equal opportunity employer.
