As a Product Manager, SEO, you will drive and support SEO & ASO (app store optimization) initiatives with the goal of increasing H-E-B organic rankings, site traffic, app store rankings, and conversion through improved site infrastructure, user experience, taxonomy, URL structure, mobile page speed, domain authority and schema markup. In this role you will be a key part of strategic website updates and projects, website enhancements and partnering with key stakeholders in product, IS, digital marketing and merchandising.

 

What You'll Do 

  • Accelerate organic search growth through the necessary tools, processes and tasks needed to build a successful program
  • Develop, maintain and execute workable project plans

     

  • Oversee technical website audits, analysis, and implementation of technical recommendations for HEB.com, including, but not limited to: URL recommendations, robots.txt updates, XML sitemap maintenance, UX/UI changes, backlink review, pagespeed optimization and site crawls

     

  • Create Jira tickets for SEO technical site enhancements
  • Provide oversight and technical guidance into product releases, site migrations and redesigns

     

  • Research and analyze industry trends, advanced SEO techniques, and competitive landscape to identify actionable opportunities to drive organic rankings, site traffic and app findability
  • Analyze backlinks to identify disavow opportunities

     

  • Develop ASO strategies to increase H-E-B app rankings and presence on Google Play and iOS App Store
  • Create monthly reporting focused on performance of on-page technical SEO KPIs including page load speed, Google Search Console errors and Googlebot page download trends
  • Ensure HEB.com SEO tactics are completely white hat and adhere to Google SEO best practices

What's your background?

  • 3+ years of technical SEO experience 
  • Proven experience in successfully managing and implementing technical SEO * ASO initiatives 
  • Prior development experience or a background in computer science preferred 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with engineers and project/product managers
  • Experience with Apple Spotlight Search and Google Firebase App Indexing 
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Math, Science, Business, Computer Science or Marketing, or similar field preferred 

Do you have what it takes to succeed? 

  • Knowledge designing URL structures and navigation elements

     

  • Working knowledge of XML, HTML, JavaScript and CSS as they relate to SEO

     

  • Strong knowledge of the search engine spidering, crawling and indexation process

     

  • Superior knowledge of website best practices and search engine algorithm factors which influence indexation and rankings 
  • Understanding of how to reduce crawl budget, remedy site performance issues, and implement/troubleshoot structured data using a variety of tools such as Google Search Console, DeepCrawl, Screaming Frog, Botify, aHrefs
  • Understanding of SEO best practices for domain, sub-domain and directory structures
  • Proficiency with structured data and creating schema markup
  • Strong proficiency using Google Analytics to evaluate SEO performance and opportunities
  • Proficiency using SEO & ASO tools such as Brightedge, Conductor, Moz, SEM Rush, App Radar, Appsflyer
  • Skilled at optimizing robots.txt files, XML sitemaps, implementing canonical tags, pagination pages, and identifying/ fixing redirect loops
  • Skilled at optimizing ASO Metadata (App Title, App Subtitle/Short description, App description)
  • Ability to analyze crawl data and server log files
