At Lightspeed, our Product Managers are responsible for driving product initiatives from inception through execution. Working with your lean product and agile development toolkit, you’ll work with stakeholders and customers to define product strategy, create roadmaps, and then work with the development team to iteratively build and launch features and products. 

You must possess a unique blend of business and technical sophistication; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time understanding the industry to empathize with the customers and their problems, and then relish the ability to translate you concept into working software.   

We are looking for Product Managers to work on Lightspeed Alert, and Lightspeed MDM. Alert product helps to monitor the well-being of students and to provide alerts for school staff to follow up on any concerning behavior. MDM (Mobile Device Management) provides IT teams a vital tool for managing their mobile devices. With it they can easily manage their entire fleet of devices remotely.  

ABOUT THE ROLE 

  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities 
  • Practice lean product development methodologies, working through experiments, interacting with customers, and focusing on achieving measurable goals 
  • Define the roadmap for your product 
  • Be able to communicate work in progress effectively to all internal stakeholders (product, marketing, sales, support, leadership, development) to ensure clear alignment and prioritization 
  • Act as the product owner during agile development 
  • Conduct refinement meetings on stories with the development team 
  • Maintain a relevant and well prioritized backlog, supported by user storyboards, acceptance criteria and other artifacts needed by development teams.  
  • Keep bugs to a minimum and properly manage bug fixes when they crop up 
  • Articulate communicator both verbally and in writing.  
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.

  • Are technologically savvy and can understand sophisticated networking concepts with ease.
  • Are obsessed with empathizing with and understanding the customer. 
  • Can manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, from concepts to deliverables. 
  • Comfortable with feedback and adapts quickly to changing information.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven atmosphere.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering quality products and features under all circumstances, whether you had 5 months, or 5 days to accomplish the goal. 
  • Understand how to juggle multiple stakeholder perspectives and personalities with grace and skill
  • Make everyone feel heard and understood
  • A compelling and unique point of view.  

NEED TO HAVE  

  • 3+ years experience in a product role such as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, or Product Manager.
  • Experience in an agile environment
  • BA/BS  

PREFERRED (for Alert Product Manager) 

  • Experience with ML/AI
  • Background in counseling, psychology, or mental health profession/market 

PREFERRED (for MDD Product Manager) 

  • Experience with Apple within the context of your previous jobs
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management 

NICE TO HAVE 

  • Scrum Certified Product Owner (Extra points for multiple/advanced certifications)
  • SAAS experience
  • Education experience
  • Experience at a company in their growth phase
  • Background as a developer
  • B2B Product experience 
  • Lean experience
  • Experience with ML/AI
  • Background in counseling, psychology, or mental health
