Our Interview Process

Realized pride's itself on a strong, collaborative and transparent culture which means every team member we bring into the fold goes through a rigorous interview process. You can expect your resume to be reviewed directly by the manager hiring for this position. If your experience is a good match, you will go through a series of 4 interviews with the hiring manager and Technology team. You will also be asked to take a short 20 minute assessment that will be used to drive the conversation of the interviews. 

 

Position Summary

The Product Owner is responsible for requirements definition and product documentation in a fast-paced environment working within a start-up culture (i.e., flat organization with transparency) to drive feature development from concept to launch.  The PO is comfortable playing a key role in the software application development process using Agile/Scrum methodology.  Working with the Senior Product Manager, the PO will collaborate with business stakeholders in defining features and dependencies for which user stories will be written and prioritized in the Product Backlog.  The PO will collaborate with internal Product Development team to clarify requirements and ensure UI mockups are created/updated by UI Designer for review and acceptance by development team.  The PO will communicate development status and work to resolve issues and blockers as they arise to keep the project on schedule. 

 

The Product Owner will also partner with internal departments (i.e., Marketing, Sales) to ensure organizational ‘readiness’ when new features are deployed to Production.  Prior to release, the PO will coordinate UAT tasks with internal users to communicate known issues and ensure ‘acceptance’ while prioritizing any new issues or change requests.  The PO will provide internal demos/training of new features and internal product support as needed.

 

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with Product team to understand product strategy, roadmap, internal users and external client needs.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business processes and define product feature requirements.
  • Document product requirements and workflows via user stories documented in Confluence and JIRA in preparation for Sprint Planning and update requirements as needed.
  • Attend daily and weekly meetings (primarily remote calls) to communicate requirements and support the offshore development team in an agile/iterative process.
  • Responsible for detailed documentation and clear communications with team members, making himself/herself available whenever possible to respond to development team questions.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to communicate the status of ongoing product development work, summarizing issues/blockers, risks and dependencies.
  • Work with Senior Product Manager to create and deliver clear and effective presentations at all levels of the organization.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • S. or B.A. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or an equivalent Engineering degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration
  • 3+ years software implementation experience, from which at least 2+ years includes product manager, product owner, or business analyst experience defining software product requirements.
  • General understanding in the areas of software application programming, database and system design.
  • Experience working within Agile/SCRUM methodology for software product development and managing/grooming a Backlog.
  • Experience working with UI Product Designers and reviewing wireframes/mockups in tools like Sketch or Figma.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Prior experience in Real Estate, Finance, Investments or other regulated industry like healthcare.
