What you will be doing…
Content is the foundation on which our user experiences are built, and as a content focused product manager, your role will be to work across the organization to ensure that realtor.com delivers superlative content that buyers, sellers and renters seek out, and rely upon.
In order to meet our users' needs for great real estate content, you’ll focus on three elements in particular: listing breadth, listing depth, and listing speed.
Listing breadth, is a very challenging problem to solve, that will require strong product execution, as well as creative problem solving. Real estate searchers seek a comprehensive set of results that they can be confident includes all of the homes that are available for sale or for rent. However, there is no one place that has all of the available listings aggregated, so you’ll need to identify who has the listing content, and develop solutions that enable them to display those available homes on Realtor.com. There is great diversity in terms of who has the content (independent landlords, big apartment REITS, custom home builders, national builders, etc), so you’ll need to understand who they are, how they operate, and tailor solutions that enable them to deliver their content to realtor.com.
Aggregating great content breadth is only part of the challenge though, because you’ll also focus on listing depth, to ensure that for the properties we display, we can paint the richest possible picture for a user, of what it would be like to live in that home. That could mean capturing all of the property facts and details from the property owner, it could mean pulling in vivid photos or virtual tours or floorplans, or it could mean augmenting the property info with 3rd party data like reviews, or utility costs.
Finally, since properties move on and off of the market very quickly, listing speed matters greatly, so that buyers and renters can act fast. To ensure timely data, you’ll need to focus on our platform architecture and processes, so ensure that the listings we aggregate, can make it on (and off) of realtor.com as rapidly as possible.
You won’t be alone on this journey. You’ll motivate and guide content focused product strategy and development as a part of a small, empowered team of designers and engineers. Together, with a clear mission in your heads and hearts, you’ll ship a lot of engaging, beautiful and personalised new product solutions that build the strongest content foundation anywhere.

What we’re looking for…

- Self-assured nature, finds it fun to take on a big ask (small bites at a time)
- User-centred style, with a strong sense of empathy and experience driving product direction and execution based on user needs
- Blend of experience from workplaces large and small
- Consulting skills to bring many different parties and perspectives together, forge a vision and get buy-in
- Lovely set of views about how great products are made together with engineering and design - or if earlier in career, are forming those and keen to learn
- Respectful approach to guide, encourage (and even inspire!) a cross-functional team of designers and engineers, to allow each person to uniquely shine and contribute
- Digital product passion in thy blood (e.g. several years experience for the more senior roles), giving you some strong ideas (but weakly held) to share
- Soft skills set including communication, friendly, approachable, open to ideas, generous giver and receiver of feedback
- Desire to be part of and help create a highly-inclusive culture where everyone can belong
- Strategic thinker. Understands business objectives and converts them into clear product plans, follows through with execution.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and challenge. Thrives in a fast-paced environment, concurrently manages multiple initiatives, remains optimistic.
