About the role
We are operating in an increasingly dynamic and competitive landscape where we must leverage one of our most valuable assets – data. Data is at the foundation of our business and provides us the strategic advantage to create superior experiences for our consumers and better serve our customers.
We are seeking a Product Manager who is passionate about leveraging data as the ultimate business enabler. Your charter will be to enable optimal data-driven decisions that empower our products and people. Ideal candidates should be highly technical and data-oriented or have experience as a Product Manager for data platform products.
As the Product Manager for Data Platform, you will contribute to, and execute on our data strategy to enable stakeholders across the business to more easily leverage data to achieve business outcomes. This includes partnering with stakeholders across various business units to deliver solutions that quickly acquire, unify, and make data available in the data platform. You will work in close partnership with engineering teams and collaborate with stakeholders to meet immediate goals while making sustained progress towards our long-term vision.
What you’ll do
Serve as product owner for the Data Platform team(s) responsible for creating solutions that enable stakeholders to self-service load data into the data platform, process it, and consume resulting data with minimum data engineering assistance
Continuously improve the data platform by engaging with product, business, engineering, and analytics stakeholders to understand their needs, gather feedback and translate those into actionable requirements
Own roadmap, manage team backlog, and communicate product priorities, timelines and efforts across the organization
Evangelize the use of and grow the adoption of the data platform
Manage the agile processes with our engineering partners and contribute to continuous improvement of our agile practices
Internalizes and represents the voice of the customer throughout the product life cycle
What we like to see
- BS, MS, or MBA focused on computer science, bu or related field
- 1-3 years of experience leading a development team in a product management capacity
- General development experience using Agile methodologies
- Comfortable with ambiguity and the challenges that come with solving big problems
- Experience working with or building data APIs (hands-on experience or as PM)
- Experience working with or building data pipelines / ETLs (hands-on experience or as PM)
- Experience using SQL and working with different big data technologies
- Good working knowledge of Atlassian products: Jira and Confluence
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively communicate and lead development teams
