Senior Product Manager, E-Commerce
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Senior Product Manager for E-Commerce ensures that students visiting our website find what they need, have seamless purchase experiences, and are properly onboarded on to our courses, tools, and services. They do this while ensuring that we maximize our sales, profit, customer satisfaction & lifetime value goals.
Leading a team in the pursuit of these goals, this role also ensures that our websites are optimized for conversion, SEM, and SEO, and that cross-functional teams are equipped with the content management systems, related website management tools, and sales transaction systems they need to do their jobs.
The Senior Product Manager for E-Commerce is an expert at managing both the long term roadmap of our website and e-commerce systems, while also being able to manage ongoing day-to-day improvements and optimizations that result from CRO experimentation, pricing and merchandising changes, and changes in the SEM and SEO realm.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Ideate, collaborate on the development of, and evangelize the website and e-commerce product strategy and roadmap
- Collaborate with stakeholders to construct and articulate business cases for new website and e-commerce initiatives in order to communicate priority and impact to stakeholders
- Work with stakeholders to perform the qualitative and quantitative user research needed to deeply understand and identify student needs and inform the e-commerce roadmap
- Work with key stakeholders across the company to understand the business dynamics and inform, deliver, and execute the product Roadmap
- Measure and report on key business, user, and product health metrics related to key initiatives (e.g., What did we do? What did we learn about business and user impact? How does it inform what’s next?)
- Work with Marketing, Business Development, and Finance to ensure that our e-commerce solutions are enabling P&L expectations
- Lead a team of Product Owners and/or Managers to ensure proper roadmap execution
- Manage SCRUM and Kanban development processes to ensure timely delivery of roadmap items and day to day requirements from stakeholders.
- Work with Product Owners and Managers, Engineering, and other stakeholders to maintain, groom, and prioritize the backlog.
- Handle ad hoc projects as prioritized by the business in order to ensure adherence to our e-commerce related performance metrics.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a manner that lives our company values
- 5+ years of product management in e-commerce website development and/or operations
- Demonstrated ability to craft product strategies based on customer, business, and internal stakeholder needs
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through the product development lifecycle
- Track record of conversion rate, average order value, lifetime value, and/or customer satisfaction wins; Experience identifying and executing against requirements site speed and related performance metrics to ensure optimal SEO, SEM, and user experience
- Experience managing multiple projects at once in accordance with operational and budgetary plans and priorities
- Superb analytical skills; adept at identifying and applying data to make smart decisions
- Ability to inspire team members, communicate effectively to all levels of the organization, and distill complex issues into structured frameworks and concrete action plans
- Experience managing a small team
