Bright Health’s Product team will support the definition and creation of products for Bright Health Plan, Bright Health Care and Bright Health Intelligence. This position will work with stakeholders across the company to distill common needs, define executable requirements, and build useful features for a next generation data platform which will serve as the central nerve of all Bright, Inc. operations and product development. Collaborators will include fellow product managers, business analysts, market managers, clinical, engineers and database architects as needed to support the full life cycle of product development. Technical platforms and infrastructure are critical to realizing our mission, and in this role will play a leading role in determining how best to use technical resources to support Bright Health’s efforts to revolutionize the payer industry.

This role will own the strategy and execution of product development for platforms where clinical data is essential. This role will oversee the prioritization of several engineering scrum teams to bring a product vision to life. You will play a key leadership role in all aspects of clinical data, product and analytic strategy, infrastructure database planning as well as implementation and execution of the platform to advance data discovery at Bright Health. The director will assist in setting and operationalizing priorities and objectives, and tactical efforts. This role will provide clinical informatics and analytics leadership throughout the organization in collaboration with stakeholders to integrate financial, operational, and clinical data.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Produce a collection of processes, standard operating procedures, and tools that result in high quality, repeatable clinical data ingestion, handling, calculation, and visualization/function to support a variety of current and future product development
  • Act as a hub between Product, Clinical Implementations, Clinical teams, Market teams and Integrations teams to ensure a successful Care Partner launch through excellent communication across departments
  • Use data standards to design new methods of monitoring and implement with the help of the Development and Data Science teams
  • Create & maintain documentation around data component standards to serve as a source of truth for the organization
  • Assist in the development and deployment of interface or reference terminologies
  • Participate in data mapping projects
  • Enhance and standardize processes for data extracts to third party vendors: evaluate data collection workflows and identify opportunities to streamline manual processes
  • Design and optimize clinical databases for analytics, product development and research
  • Analyze and evaluate clinical data for product development
  • Work with stakeholders and business owners to identify contents to be standardized
  • Curate, analyze and manage clinical value sets

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Health Administration or related field required. A master’s degree in clinical informatics or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in clinical data management
  • Minimum two (2) years of product management experience in a health technology company
  • Working knowledge of hospital EMRs including EPIC, Cerner, Meditech and Allscripts, etc.
  • Experience in interpreting data sets and performing statistical analysis where needed
  • Knowledge of HL7 interfaces, SQL, and other database query tools
  • Experience in developing products involving HIEs, Registries, Population Health/Middleware SaaS, ETL, etc.; FHIR, HL7, and other EDI
  • Clinical Utilization/Case Management background helpful
  • In-depth knowledge of standard classifications and code sets, such as ICD-10, LOINC, CPT, HCPCS, NDC, SNOMED and RxNorm
  • Previous terminology development or implementation within a clinical information system is desirable
  • Strong experience leading complex business requirements definition and analysis activities
  • Experience coordinating multiple cross-functional teams and initiatives, ideally through an Agile framework
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence and Aha! a plus

  • Ability to present to customers with credibility
  • Ability to create system documentation, education materials, reports, and presentations
  • Demonstrate superb decision-making skills by engaging experts while determining alternatives and quickly synthesize information, derive insights, and devise solutions
  • Comfort with big data tools and cognitive computing tooling and methodologies
  • Start-up mentality and comfortable innovating at a fast pace
  • Understanding of the conceptual, strategic and technical aspects of an issue. Capable of grasping these concepts quickly and translating the impacts to the stakeholder
  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

LICENSURES AND CERTIFICATIONS

· Product management trainings or certifications are a plus
