Technical Product Manager

Amherst is hiring for a Technical Product Manager with excellent analytical and technical skills to provide leadership in product management of Fixed Income suite of products. The successful candidate will coordinate with multiple stakeholders in gathering requirements, own and execute product roadmap and ensure high quality product delivery. Financial risk analytics with specific knowledge of mortgage markets is desired, however, candidates with advanced mathematical, statistical or finance aptitude with academic background in interest rate models and fixed income can also be considered.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior leaders in setting product vision, strategy and roadmap
- Work with business vertical leaders to research requirements
- Coordinate with cross-functional team of developers, data engineers, modelers and software engineers to ensure timely and accurate execution of the product roadmap
- Create prototypes and assist with QA testing
- Document models, release notes, user manuals, process flows etc.
- Communicate broadly on decisions, progress, and plans
- Must be a change agent
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Quantitative field; Engineering, Mathematics, Econometrics, etc.
- 2+ years of Fixed Income Analytics with specific experience in Mortgage Backed Securities required
- Must be a creative thinker with great problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Microsoft Excel power-user
- Proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau, Visio desired
- Familiarity in query languages such an MS SQL
- Experience with agile development methodology, setting product strategy and medium to long term product roadmap
- Product management tools : JIRA and Confluence (or other wiki based tools)
- Python programming language or other programming skills a major plus
