Unity's Enterprise Developer Support team is looking for developers with graphics, engineering, and pipeline tools skills to solve customer problems in the cinematic, film and animation fields.

If you're technically skilled, customer-focused, curious, and independent, this job will suit you. Your day-to-day work will include interacting with our high-profile customers, helping them build their content pipeline, providing advice and sample code to help them achieve their target look, and doing whatever it takes to ensure that their projects succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized, friendly help to our film and animation clients
  • Efficiently solve problems, communicate, and educate our clients, both remotely and on-site at their offices
  • Create and maintain pipeline tools for different DCCs
  • Dive into Unity's code base to answer questions, create patches, and provide advice
  • Build close relationships with client engineers and with Unity's internal development teams
  • Proactively train yourself to remain at the forefront of high-quality graphics rendering techniques and Unity Engine technology

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of professional, full-time experience programming creating tools for one or more Digital Content Creation softwares (Maya, Houdini, Katana, RenderMan, Arnold, VRay)
  • At least 3 years of professional experience writing shaders/GPU programs or rendering-related code
  • At least 3 years of professional experience as a Pipeline TD, or equivalent
  • Profiling and performance optimization of applications
  • Programming in either Python or C++, with working knowledge of the other
  • Communication, in both spoken and written English
  • Empathy, diplomacy and customer service
  • Self-organization and working independently
  • Collaboration and working in teams
  • Enthusiasm for working with gaming, cinematic, and animation projects
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally

Bonus points

  • Experience using the Unity engine professionally
  • Working knowledge of C#
  • Experience with technical writing, training or giving talks
  • Experience in implementing and debugging multithreaded code
  • A university degree in, or equivalent knowledge of, computer science, computer architecture, or 3D/matrix mathematics
  • Experience tackling the challenges of rendering high-polygon, high-fidelity content in real time (at least 30 Hz) applications
  • Experience with traditional raytracing rendering methods; layers, compositing
  • Experience with common lighting tech concepts; light types, baked lighting, global illumination, etc
  • Experience with game rendering methods; forward rendering, deferred rendering, post processing tricks in the framebuffer
  • Experience with path-tracing and realtime raytracing
