Digital Accessibility Expert
Q2 is seeking an experienced Digital Accessibility Expert to support our Accessibility initiatives related to our industry-changing fintech platform. You will be working at a company whose mission is to build stronger communities by strengthening their financial intuitions and with FinTech’s and startups who want to bring change and innovation to the financial world. This position will be responsible for leading a team in the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative and rapidly changing environment. It requires a highly motivated and focused individual capable of leading and building high performing innovative teams.
As the Digital Accessibility Expert, you have an expert understanding of digital accessibility for the design, evaluation and remediation of defects / issues by analyzing digital products for accessibility issues as part of the WCAG success criteria. You mentor others about collaborations with technologists, developers, test teams, researchers, product owners and designers to find workable solutions and to ensure specifications are clearly defined. You possess expert knowledge of manual and automated testing techniques using multiple tools and mentor others in the tools. You have strong communication and presentation skills along with an expert understanding of UX Design best practices. You guide the efforts to identify the opportunities and limitations of the organization’s current and future accessibility challenges, ensuring accessibility & inclusion needs drive implementation choices and strategic direction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consult on and help structure and implement next gen accessibility programs and solutions related to large-scale systems and services in support of community financial institutions and FinTech’s
Develop guidelines for designers, developers and testers to aid in compliance with the current version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Engage in quality audits and assist with the assessment, breakdown and remediation roadmaps where necessary.
Communicate prioritization, process and project updates with internal and external stakeholders
Work with cross-functional teams delivering on demanding projects
Understand system interdependencies and limitations
Work with stakeholders to establish timelines for new projects
Participate in sprint planning, retrospective and daily scrum meetings
Instill best practices for software development
Formally observe user interviews and usability sessions
Responsible for ensuring that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
3+ years of experience in a professional Accessibility specialist capacity
Deep technical knowledge of accessibility with CPWA certification preferred; ability to provide code-level remediation and lead discussions with developers; prior web development experience strongly preferred
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Advanced knowledge of software development, testing, and maintenance
Demonstrated ability to facilitate technical discussions and drive solutions forward to achieve business needs
Comfortable working in a matrix environment across the organization in a collaborative manner
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge and experience with mobile development practices preferred
Knowledge and experience in the banking industry a plus
