Whole Foods Market is seeking an experienced Program Manager capable of working in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment to deliver results on numerous high-visibility and complex cross-functional business initiatives and projects. The ideal candidate has demonstrated the ability to move quickly and fluidly across multiple initiatives and has best-in-class collaboration and written/verbal communication skills.
The Strategic Initiatives team coordinates and leads execution of Whole Foods Market initiatives across all relevant stakeholder groups including Amazon, when appropriate. This position will own documenting, tracking, prioritizing, and delivering results on a wide range of projects. Additionally, will support and directly influence key complex projects and business initiatives across Whole Foods Market with a focus on scalable, long-term solutions.
This individual is expected to have a deep sense of ownership, ability to identify process improvement opportunities, drive positive change across the organization, and enhance partnerships between various Whole Foods Market stakeholder groups.
In addition, successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to support multiple, simultaneous, project launches and is expected to identify and own projects independently. Excellent communication and organization skills are required along with the ability to anticipate, identify, and communicate program information to senior business leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees broad-based cross-functional efforts to design and configure new and/or enhanced operations, methods and systems
  • Gathering and drafting requirements across teams
  • Developing scaling and integration plans for pilot initiatives
  • Develop and maintain playbooks, plans, policies, and procedures for all project phases
  • Coordinate and scope projects between multiple teams to align team objectives
  • Manage program roadmap where applicable to support the strategic business objectives
  • Maintain project tracking, establish owners, document next steps and communicate status updates to various stakeholders in a proactive manner
  • Establish and execute a comprehensive communication plan to manage communications among various stakeholders within the organization
  • Plays a key role in cross-functional efforts to develop holistic and innovative business performance improvement recommendations
  • Vets recommendations with Strategic Integration leadership and with key stakeholders from functional and operational teams
  • Monitors and tracks initiative progress, identifying and addressing issues as they arise
  • Performs post-project reviews to ensure achievement of business objectives and identify patterns, trends, and challenges
  • Support change management by developing and maintaining consistent policies and procedures
  • Regularly interacts with colleagues or customers up to the senior leadership level
  • Consults with and advises senior-level stakeholders and leaders
  • Uses experience, innovation, and judgment to make decisions that may be based on partial information
  • Leverages understanding of the customer base, market, and industry to drive project-related decisions and recommendations
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the WFM product mix, supply base, and retail operations
  • Support other Whole Foods Market projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree and 6-8 years relevant experience OR equivalent education and relevant experience in business integration, program or project management, driving successful large-scale initiatives
  • Strong project/ program management experience
  • Collaborative and enjoys working with a wide range of styles
  • Results and goal focused approach to project management and integration workstreams
  • Ability to easily earn trust across all levels of an organization
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, excellent document writing skills
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of the WFM culture preferred
  • Agile and/or Six Sigma certification/experience a plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite. Smartsheet a plus
  • Ability to present information in different forums and with all/multiple levels of leadership
  • Positive attitude, ability to work well and fast under pressure, exceptional customer service
  • Comfortable in a decentralized structure where results are based on cooperation with and influence of others
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
