About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

The Enterprise Release Management (ERM) team helps with governance, environments (production and non-production), planning, tools and releases. The ERM team works with all teams using SAP to understand dependencies and collaborate across teams to resolve challenges. As the Program Manager overseeing the Enterprise Release Management team, you'll ensure that software deployed at Google goes through the appropriate process, controls, and testing. You will engage with executive stakeholders to understand their release management needs and help them adopt ERM’s offerings. You will oversee a team of other program managers, release managers, release engineers, and tools engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of program managers, release managers, release engineers and system engineers.
  • Lead the release management process and ensure that it is communicated and adopted by the rest of the organization.
  • Identify and periodically publish key metrics to the wider organization.
  • Manage quality of delivery and customer satisfaction for the area you oversee, focusing on continual improvement.
  • Oversee a large support team for the finance ERP.
